For some unexplicable reason, my reality series have been my most
recognized and applauded pieces of work. Some may say that's a bad thing...
but the fact that they were so successful opened up the door for my non-reality
fics to get more readers. So I guess it all worked out in the end.
Welcome to Reality-Style!
Here you'll find the "Roomies" series, "Mystery Solvers," and my latest, and
to this point, still unfinished reality project, "The Animated Amazing Race."
There are also a few extras like character profiles and other bonus material
you won't find anywhere else!
So sit back and enjoy your trip to reality... you might be here awhile.
Roomies: Back in May 2001, just weeks after joining FF.net, I started
this reality fanfic. The first season featured thirty-two characters, all kids
or teens, and all from four anime series. They were: Pokémon, Digimon,
Cardcaptors, and Tenchi Muyo. It involved two houses, one with all the boys
(Pallet Town), one with the girls (Reedington). They had to live together for
six weeks and compete in all sorts of challenges to win prize money.
The success of the first season led to the second, and the third. Each new
season brought new challenges and numerous rule and cast changes to improve the
quality of the show. Adults were brought in to increase age conflicts, and
more series were brought into the fold to increase the range of diversity
among the casts.
Sadly, each season had a production delay of some sort that made them each run
longer than planned. And although a fourth season was in the planning stages
at the end of Season 3, lack of time and interest sunk any chance of renewal.
Now, you can enjoy the entire series here! Pull up a chair and relive Roomies!
Season 1: Pallet Town / Reedington (PG)
Special Note for New Readers: Even though the boys' and girls' edition
are split and you can read one completely before starting on the other, to get
the full experience I'd recommend reading both editions while alternating
chapters.

Mystery Solvers: Eager to be the first to write a decent reality
fanfic that had characters from both Japanese anime and American
cartoons, I penned this series in November of 2002. This mix of hit
reality shows "The Mole" and "Murder in Small Town X" was designed to put
30 characters (10 detectives and 20 'suspects') from both worlds in the
middle of a mystery game. I also invited readers to join in solving the
case, though the fun kinda went out of it when I realized my system was
flawed.
Still, the show ended with a satisfying ending... one enough that a sequel
is currently in production after a five-year hiatus!
If you've read the original before, relive the magic! If you haven't,
feel free to download the quizzes and see if you crack the case before the
gumshoes do! And stay tuned for Season 2!

The Animated Amazing Race: Trying to cash in on what is currently the
greatest reality show, content-wise, on TV right now, "The Amazing Race," I
started this work in May of 2003. Since there was already a port for anime
teams, I decided to go with American cartoon teams in this edition.
If you're thinking of writing an "Amazing Race" fanfic of your own, I've got
one word for you. Don't. I actually tried to use real-world locations that
I've never actually been to myself. And it doesn't help that cities I've used
for this fanfic have been done in the actual show (regardless of it was before
or after I started writing this) and the challenges were much better. It takes
a lot of time and effort to put this together... and it's by far the most
difficult fanfic I've ever written.
Despite that, there are still fans out there, and for you, the series is here
for your enjoyment! Hopefully I'll finish this one day, but for now, stick
with the episodes we have, okay?
