Nine Months Prologue Story Written by The Freedom Fighter For the purposes of this fanfic, the ages are as follows: Ash Ketchum - 14 Mrs. Ketchum - let's just say early 30's Gary Oak - 14 May Oak - 16 Continuity Explanation: Pokémon Journey Travels * Although trainers are allowed to get their first Pokémon at age ten, all trainers under the age eighteen may not participate in a gym leader battle or a Pokémon League sponsored event. Any trainer who fails to follow the rule will get his or her license suspended for a year on the first offense, and then on the next offense, is taken away for life. This rule does not apply between June 1st and August 31st of every year, or during the summer months, when trainers are allowed to travel to the gyms or the Indigo Plateau Tournament. Pikachu: (sticking his right paw up) Pika pikachu pika! [Pikachu Thunder Power!] Ash was in his room with Pikachu. They were watching his favorite TV show, "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." They absolutely enjoyed every punch and kick. (Author's Note: So sue me. What else would an immature fourteen year old boy and his Pikachu watch?) Rita Repulsa: Magic wand, make my monster grow! Just as the heroes were about to call out their Dinozords, Mrs. Ketchum comes in the room. She has an angry look on her face. Mrs. Ketchum: Ash Ketchum, turn that dribble off and get to bed right this minute! You know you're leaving early in the morning to head up to Viridian City Senior High School! Ash: (sighs) Okay, mom. Mrs. Ketchum: That goes for you too, Pikachu. Pikachu: (turning off the TV) Cha! [OK!] Ash changes into his pajamas, goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth, then returns to his room and slips under the covers. Pikachu joins him soon after. Mrs. Ketchum then comes to tuck them in. Mrs. Ketchum: Nighty night, sweety! Ash: Good night, mom! She gives Ash a small peck on the cheek Mrs. Ketchum: (rubbing Pikachu’s head) Good night to you too, Pikachu! She then walks towards the door, turns off the lights, and closes the door. ************************************************************************ August 30th, 8:30 a.m. Ash’s alarm clock goes off... actually, Ash was awaken by a small shock from Pikachu. Pikachu: Pi, pikachu! [Ash, let’s go!] Ash: (groggily opening his eyes) Is it morning already? Pikachu runs out of the room and quickly returns with a small bag in his paws. Ash: What’s that for, Pikachu? Pikachu: Ka pika chu pika! [I’m coming with you!] Ash: Oh no you’re not, Pikachu! School is no place for Pokémon! Ash leaves the room to get ready. Pikachu develops a mischievous grin. Pikachu: Ka kachu chu? Pikachu pika. [I’m not going? We’ll see about that.] ************************************************************************ 9:15 a.m. Several luggage bags were sitting by the front door. Ash and Mrs. Ketchum were in the dining room, eating a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and french toast. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. Mrs. Ketchum: I'll get it, dear. She gets up and opens the door to reveal two teenagers, one male, one female. Mrs. Ketchum: Gary, May, glad you two could make it. The two step into the house. Gary was dressed in his usual purple shirt, black pants, and brown shoes, all used to accent his abnormally spiky hair. May had donned a white t-shirt with the words "Viridian City Cheerleaders Rule!", as well as a short black skirt and a comfortable pair of flat soled black shoes. Gary: Thanks, Mrs. Ketchum. May: (points to the bags) Wow, Ash is bringing all of this? Mrs. Ketchum: Yep. You can never be too prepared. Gary: He'd better keep his stuff on his side of the room. May: That's right, you two are sharing a dorm room, aren't you? Gary: Yeah. It's going to be great. Two best friends living together under one roof. Ash comes out of the dining room and spots Gary and May. Ash: Hey, Gary, how are things? Gary: Pretty good. Trying out for the Pokémon League next summer? Ash: Of course. Just watch me win it all. Gary: Hah! You'll have to go through me first. Ash: Gladly. May: Hi Ash! Ready to go? Ash had always had a crush on Gary's sister, but he didn't get a chance to see her much, since she spent most of the year up at Viridian attending school, and he was off on his Pokémon journey during the summer, when she was usually home in Pallet. He begins to swoon over May's beautiful persona. Ash: Sure. Ready when you are, sweetcakes. May: Sweetcakes? Boy, you're funny Ash Ketchum. Gary: That was supposed to be funny? Half an hour later, the car was packed, and May started the engine. After Ash kisses his mom goodbye, he slips into the back seat. Gary takes the shotgun, as May begins to drive down the road and towards Viridian City. The threesome waves goodbye to Mrs. Ketchum, and takes one last look at Pallet as it disappears from their sight in mere minutes. ************************************************************************ 1:00 p.m. As May’s car passed through Route 2, still filled with Pidgey even at this time of year, Ash decided to take a nap... ************************************************************************ Begin Dream Sequence - “A Little Bit of May in Ash’s Arms” Ash was dressed in a tuxedo as he strutted towards May’s on-campus apartment. Once there, he rings the doorbell, and his angel, dressed in nothing but a silky white dress, opens the door. Ash: Hi, May! May: Hello, Ash! Why don’t you come in? Ash: Thanks. These are for you. He handed her a beautiful bouquet of red roses. May: Why, thank you! I’ll go find a vase to put them in. Why don’t you take a seat on the couch, and I’ll be with you in a minute. Ash does so, and waits patiently. After a minute or so, May returns and sits next to him. May: So what brings you here? Ash: (taking May’s hand) May, let me be honest with you. Ever since I first laid eyes on you, I knew that you were the most beautiful girl at this school. May: (blushes) I’m flattered. I don’t know what to say. Ash: (puckers his lips and starts to move closer to May) Don’t say anything, my dear. Just as Ash and May are about to kiss... ************************************************************************ 3:30 p.m., Viridian City Senior High School Dormitory Village Ash awakes as the car comes to an abrupt stop. He looks around and sees both May and Gary get out and start to unload. Ash joins them, and it wasn't long until all of the bags were out. After finding a place to park the car, the trio headed towards the Dining Commons. As Ash and Gary took in the sights of their first day away from home in which they weren't on their Pokémon journeys, May couldn't resist in stating one simple phrase...
