Jeanette pulls out a Poke Ball, and tosses it around like a baseball. ************************************************************************ October 19th, 8:35 PM, Viridian Pokemon Gym Giovanni looks at his new "recruits", and smiles. He turns to Butch, and gives him an evil smile of satisfaction. He gives his Meowth a pat on the back, and pours it a dish of milk, which the cat lapped up like soda pop. Then, he snaps his fingers and a pair of Giovanni's Rocket guards hand the duo a wad of cash. Giovanni: Excellent job. Keep it up. Cassidy: (Salutes) yes, sir! Giovanni: Now, take the two of them to Interrogation. Meanwhile, outside, Giselle was bragging about her skills, and is plucking at everyone's nerves as she continually tries to coax one of them into a Pokemon battle. Giselle: Hey, pretty boy, I dare you! Ash: Shut up, Giselle! Misty: Yeah, keep your pie hole shut. Jeanette: How are we gonna get inside? Scott: Beats me... I'm not a rock climber. Tracey: What else CAN'T you do? Scott: A lot of things... hey, shut up. Giselle: Any one of you can battle with me! Ash, Misty, Jeanette, Scott and Tracie: SHUT UP! Giselle: (Sweatdrops) Okay, I can take a hint. Meanwhile, back inside the gym/Team Rocket HQ, the former Homecoming King and Queen are fighting a losing battle against Cassidy and Butch's (so-far) futile attempts to force them to join Team Rocket. Jessie: I'll never join Team Rocket! NEVER! James: That goes for me too! Cassidy: Butch, the Hypno. Butch: Okay, I can take a hint. Butch presses a button, and all of a sudden, a Hypno begins to emit a hypnotic code in its weird language, and in mere moments, Jessie and James are totally entranced. Cassidy: Now, will you join Team Rocket? Butch: Come on, a pretty lady like you deserve it! Jessie: (Hypnotized) Really? Butch: Yeah, so what do you say? James: (Hypnotized) Sure! Cassidy: Great! Welcome to the Team! Then, Jeanette bursts into the room, and sees Jessie and James, all dressed in new TR gear. It was too late... Jessie and James are now the two newest members of Team Rocket. Jeanette: Stop! Cassidy: Too late, girlie, it's done. Butch: Meet Jessie and James! Jessie: Wh-what? Oh, that's right! James: Jessie, what just happened? Jessie: I dunno... Prepare for trouble! James: Make it double! Jessie: To protect the world from devastation! James: To unite all peoples within our nation! Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love... James: To extend our reach to the stars above... Jessie: Jessie! James: James! Jessie: Team Rocket, blasts off at the speed of light! James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight! Meowth jumps out of nowhere, and stands in front of the duo. Meowth: Meowth! That's right! Cassidy: HEY, YOU COPIED US! Jessie: Too bad, so sad! James: Finders keepers, losers weepers! Butch: We're not losers! Jeanette, Scott, Giselle, Ash, Misty and Tracey all sweatdrop. Cassidy: Oh, yeah, the twerps... sorry to keep you on hold! Butch: A little technical difficulty! Jessie: You twerps need a beating! James: We challenge you to a battle! Scott: I'm going to beat these guys with my hands tied behind my back! Misty: (Whispering to Ash) who is this guy trying to impress? Ash: (Back to Misty) I dunno. Us, maybe? Giselle: (Jumping in) He's more arrogant than you and Gary combined... Tracey: That's the way he is, from the day I met him. Ash: You knew Scott before? Tracey: Sure. He's a "Impress-Everyone-Around-You" type of guy. Remember yesterday when he playing with that broken knee during the Homecoming game? Misty: Well, it DOES remind me of a certain someone... (Looks at Ash.) Ash: Hey, I won most of those matches! Giselle: You lost to me. Jeanette: (Angry) Hey, are you people just gonna stand here all night? Cassidy: We've got a battle to fight! Scott: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Gloom, let's go! Ash: (Turns to Pikachu) Pikachu, help Gloom! Misty: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Misty calls... Starmie! Tracey: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Marill, go! Jeanette: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Jeanette calls... Bellsprout! Giselle: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Go, Marowak! Team Rocket, sensing a disadvantage, decides to even up the field. Cassidy: (Smashes the Hypno case) Hypno, go get those brats! Jessie: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Go, Arbok! Butch: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Raticate! James: (Tosses out Poke Ball) Weezing! Both sides are now ready for battle... Scott: Gloom, use your Foul Odor attack! James: Weezing, counter with your Poison Gas attack! Misty: Starmie, Water Gun that Hypno! Unfortunately, Hypno has a shield over Team Rocket, so the attacks bounce off the light. Alas, TR forgot about the shield, so all that Poison Gas attack goes in their faces. Butch: Get that thing OUTSIDE the wall, idiot! James: Who're you calling an idiot? Giselle: Marowak, Bone Club! Marowak's Bone Club attack goes thru the shield, and knocks out Arbok. Jeanette: Bellsprout, Razor Leaf! The leaves follow the bone club, and quickly KO's Raticate. Scott: Gloom, Petal Dance! Tracey: Marill, Hydro Pump! Ash: Pikachu, Thunder Shock, now! Petal Dance knocks out Weezing, while Hydro Pump KO's Hypno. Pikachu releases its Thunder Shock, and everyone in the room is practically fried to a charred crisp, but since our friends from TR is standing near electrical equipment, it overloads, and explodes! As it does, it rips a hole in the wall, and sends them flying out of it. Cassidy, Butch, Meowth, Jessie and James: We're blasting off again! And in true Team Rocket fashion, they disappear into the night sky in a clear flash. After a moment to savor the victory, a rocket pod blasts off, containing Giovanni. Then, as that pod also disappears, the Viridian Officer Jenny arrives with her squad. Officer Jenny: Is everyone all right? Ash: Yeah, we are, Officer Jenny. Misty: All here and accounted for! Giselle: Just clean off wiping Team Rocket out! Tracey: I wouldn't be too sure about that, Giselle... Scott: They'll be back... I know it. Jeanette: Come on, tell us something we DON'T know. Everyone laughs at the joke, but they don't know why they were. ************************************************************************ 10:30 PM, Viridian Street Mall, Little Savoy Café After the ordeal at the gym, our friends are at a café on the world-renown Viridian Street Mall, having some hot cocoa before going back home to the dorms or heading off to the train station for home. May and Scott are sitting at one tables, Ash and Misty at an another, and Tracey, Jeanette, Brock, Giselle and Gary at a third... let's go around and see what's up. Tracey: So, I sent out Marill, and they had a Hypno! I just wanted... Brock: ...To sit down and draw? Gary: How typical of you, Tracey. Jeanette: (Looks at her watch) Well, better go. Giselle: See you later. Brock: Take care. Well, not much going on there... Misty: So, when are you going to pay me for my bike? Ash: I told you I will some day! Misty: Well, I want a definite day! Ash: Oh, am I a psychic now? Misty: Huh? Ash: I don't know when I'll get the money! Misty: Oh, I see... BUT YOU'LL STILL HAVE TO PAY ME! Ash: (Covering his ears) Hey, you don't have to tell the whole café! Just your ordinary Ash-Misty argument...what's with Scott and May? May: (Realizing something) So that's why Gary hasn't cracked any gay jokes. Scott: Hey, I don't mind them... May: Trust me, I know a lot of the guys, and they're pretty accepting. Scott: May, thanks for being so understanding. May: That's what friends are for, right? Scott: (Extends a hand) Friends? May: (Grabs Scott's hand) Friends. ************************************************************************ October 20th, 11:30 AM, Viridian Senior High Dorms, 601 Starmie Hall Jeanette (Off-screen): The next day, our friends took out all the yearbooks that Jessie and James were in, and tried to find the reason why Team Rocket would have wanted them. Misty: I just don't get it... Giselle: Maybe Cassidy envied Jessie and her looks? Giselle and Misty: (Shakes their heads) Nah! Misty: I wonder how the boys are doing... In 211 International Hall, Gary, Scott, Ash, Brock and Tracey were going through the rest of the yearbooks, and they also don't have an answer... the 5 of them had raided Tracey and Scott's mini-fridge, and had already drunk all the cola, and was halfway through the ice cream when... Ash: (An idea comes) Maybe Butch was a bully and always picked on James. Brock: Ash, Butch was from Celadon High, not Viridian! Tracey: (Realizing) They were ex-Rockets, weren't they? Gary: Hey, yeah, that's right. Scott: Team Rocket's not an easy organization to get out of... how did they do it? Brock: I think Mr. and Mrs. LeBlanc hired people to brainwash the two. Gary: (Genially) Isn't that illegal? Scott: Well, in the law books, it is. Ash: ...I've seen it done in a movie once... I think it was called "Ticket to Heaven". Tracey: Yeah, that movie. I remember it. Suddenly, the phone rings on the PC, and Tracey goes to pick it up. Misty's image comes onto the screen. Misty: Guys! Giselle and I think we've got the answer! All the boys: What is it? Giselle: Well, they were ex-Rockets, according to police files... Tracie: (Muttering) Tell us something we don't already know. Misty: But the thing is, Jessie actually was a child prodigy! All the boys (again): WHAT? Misty: ...and as you know, James's family is rich. Gary: So? Giselle: We think that TR kidnapped James because they want him to steal his parents' money to finance some big project! Brock: Now why didn't we think of that? Ash: Because we were too loaded with sugar to think about it? Scott: Yeah, sure, thanks for cleaning us out! Gary: (Burps) you're welcome, Scott. ************************************************************************ October 22nd, 11:30 PM, Viridian High School, Van Graveler Stadium Jeanette: Well, I guess that's about the end of the story there... Team Rocket will be back at Viridian Senior High School, but when and how remains the questions. Suddenly, the lights turn off, and Jeanette is plunged into darkness. Jeanette: (Annoyed) Hey, I wasn't finished! Voice: Too bad, your time's up! Jeanette: Stupid low-budget films... always cutting people off. Voice: (Angry) I heard that! ************************************************************************ October 23rd, 3:50 PM, Viridian High, Main Classroom Bldg., Room 216 Has Brock finally found his dream lover? Maybe today in Biology class, he'll find out the truth... or will he go away shot down again? Brock: So, Melanie, wanna go for some ice cream later? Melanie: Sure... and we can catch some football, too. Mr. Rocker: Mr. Slate, we know you love Miss Shrub a lot. The class burst out in laughter, while Brock sits there and blushes. May: Nice going, Brock. Brock: You shouldn't talk. Melanie: Brock! May: Come on, if you love her, then why don't you smooch? Melanie: May! Brock suddenly grabs Melanie, and they kiss, following on May's dare. The class whoops and cheers, as the teacher could only look on and smile. ************************************************************************ 5:30 PM, Viridian High School, Van Graveler Stadium Gary sat on the bench, trying to chase away all the stars. The concussion he got back on the Homecoming game hasn't cleared up, but hey, it could be worse. Scott is back at the dorms recovering from the surgery, while AJ was forced to sit out the game by order of the athletic trainer... The team was literally down to third stringers and freshmen. Misty (A helper): Gary, want some water? Gary: Sure. She hands her a bottle of water, and he squeezes it into his mouth. Misty: You know, I've been thinking... Gary: What? Misty: Gary, I really like Ash. On hearing that, Gary spits out all the water in his mouth onto Paul, who was the least bit impressed by that. Gary: Ashy-boy? Why would you do that? Misty: I guess May was right. He's caring and sensitive to others... but a little bull headed sometimes. Gary: But... but... but... Misty: We can still be friends, right? Gary: Yeah... Misty: Don't feel bad... it's nothing personal. Gary: I understand. Misty: Well, you can say it's because I've traveled with him around the island for so long that I actually love him! Gary doesn't reply. He just sits there, and as Misty walks away, she begins to feel terrible about being blunt on her feelings. To be continued...
