Currently Watching: Nothing

Almost three months since the last update. Still, better than the last break... Today, I've got a little treat in the form of a new 'Top 10' editorial. As you know, last month Disney asked fans of the hit animated series "Phineas and Ferb" to vote on their favorite songs from the show's first season. The results would be tabulated and the Top 10 showcased in a countdown show. That episode arrives tonight in the form of "Phineas and Ferb's Musical Cliptastic Countdown." To celebrate, I've decided to make my own personal Top 10 list. In addition, I've got the videos to back them up, so you can watch and listen along as you read my comments about my choices.

Check out the list, compare them to your own personal lists, and then sit back and enjoy "Phineas and Ferb's Musical Cliptastic Countdown" tonight on Disney XD and Friday night on Disney Channel.

Stay tuned... a possible fanfiction update is in the works, for those of you looking of something in that department from me!

Currently Watching: Fruits Basket Series Thinpak, Baccano Vol. 1, and a bunch of other things I can't recall...

I guess no one's really surprised that this page hasn't been updated in eight-and-a-half months, and another two on top of that for one with actual content, but I'm glad to say that the streak is broken! For the first time in 2009, there is brand-new content here at Freedom Fighter's Library! And even better, it's an update to a section that hasn't seen new content in practically two years!

If you haven't figured it out yet... it's a brand-new editorial! Man, the last one I wrote was my journal for Otakon 2007! The convention that year was, ironically, this weekend two years ago, more or less. Sadly, financial emptiness on my end prevents me from going to this year's edition, which is this very weekend. This'll be the second year I'm missing out on the hour-long trek to Baltimore. Sigh... well, I guess I'll try again next year. Or, maybe, just maybe, I'll finally make that trip up to Anime Central, not too far from where Barack Obama gave his presidential victory speech last November...

Good gravy, it really HAS been a long time since I updated!

So, what am I doing this weekend instead of going to Otakon? Well, my weekend started earlier tonight with the US premiere of "Stoked," from the creators of "6teen" and the "Total Drama" series. Not surprisingly, the first episode met my expectations... a premise we've all seen before (heck, even looking and feeling like this is "6teen," only that instead of in a mall, it takes place at a beach resort) that seems as if, over time, the characterization and plot will help make the show enjoyable. But, at the outset, an okay show. It's still miles better than anything Cartoon Network is dishing out with its live-action programming... ugh! (Though most of the shows are decent... they just don't belong on a network originally designated to air only cartoons!)

Anyway, what about the rest of the weekend? Well, how about this... I'm spending it catching as much of "The Ultimate SpongeBob SpongeBash" as possible! Wait a minute... you're probably wondering, when in the heck did I become a "SpongeBob SquarePants" fan? The change happened fairly recently, and is detailed in my new editorial, "So the Sponge is Good." So go, check it out! Check-it-out check-it-out check-it-out check-it-out check it out! ("Sonny with a Chance"... dang, I really do watch too much TV!)

I guess admitting watching "Fruits Basket" doesn't help my guy quotient, either. But it was a fun romantic comedy... though, I liked it more for being a comedy than being full of romance. I see Tohru Honda as a teenage version of Sakura Kinomoto... a sugary sweet personification of cuteness wrapped in an adorable package. Why can't more women be like those two? I was disappointed at the ending, though, but "Basket" was another one of those anime that had to stop after 26 episodes because there wasn't enough manga material at the time to adapt for another run. So they tried to inject some serious drama into the final two episodes, which worked in terms of its purpose, but kinda ruined my overall impression of the show. Still, I hear that the manga did end, so maybe a second season (or a reversioning, a la "Fullmetal Alchemist") will get made sometime in the near future.

Anyway, enjoy the update, and hopefully I'll do more soon! (And, yes, a fanfiction update is in the works... that's coming in a few weeks.)
