Adventures Series, Episode 8 (Version 1.1), “Misty’s Great Catch” Before I head off for Thanksgiving Break, here’s the fourth chapter of Misty’s series. I have to admit, though, this chapter isn’t as exciting as the three previous chapters, but chapter five will make up for it later. And please, I need feedback. Please tell me what you think of this series. My e-mail address is jgg121@yahoo.com. Disclaimer: Arius, Cassie, Patti, and Professor Fir are all my property. There’s a concept that I got from a current TV show to use in my story, and that’s the property of it’s respective owner (guess which show I’m talking about!). All others are property of their respective owners. ************************************************************************ Inset to Vermillion City. Misty has just left the gym, after winning the Thunder Badge from Lt. Surge. Arius was waiting for her, and he’s dragging her off to the docks for some strange reason... Misty: Arius! Where are you taking me? Arius: Well, I got two tickets for the cruise to Porta Vista! Misty: Porta Vista? Arius: Yeah! At the Closing Ceremonies this morning, they gave away a pair of free tickets to go on the cruise. And guess who won? Misty: Um, you did? Arius: Yeah! Excited? Misty: Well, sort of. Arius: (grabbing Misty’s hand) Come on, the boat leaves in five minutes! Misty: Arius! ************************************************************************ Adventures Series, Episode 8 “Misty’s Travels to the Pokémon League,” Chapter Four: “Misty’s Great Catch” Story Written by Freedom Fighter ************************************************************************ Narrator: It’s another beautiful day by the docks in Vermillion City. A group of tourists are boarding a ship named the Saint Veronica. And among them are our heroes, Misty and Arius! Misty: So let me get this straight, you won a pair of tickets to travel on the Saint Veronica to the island of Porta Vista? Arius: Right. Misty: (shaking her head) I still don’t believe you. Arius: (handing the tickets over to a crew member) Look Misty, you’ve gone through three gyms in less than two months. Don’t you deserve a break? Misty: Maybe, but I just want to get the four badges I need and then get to the Indigo Plateau on time to watch a friend of mine compete in the Pokémon League. Arius: Stop trying to push yourself so much! Besides, I’m sure the tournament will be televised on TV. You won’t miss anything. Misty: But he’s my best friend... Arius: Best friend? I’ve heard that one before. Misty: (walking up the gangplank) What do you mean? Arius: (following her) I believe that this “friend” of yours is more than just a friend. Misty: Well, sort of... Arius: If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that this guy’s your boyfriend. Misty: (turns around and yells) Ash is not my boyfriend! Arius: So his name’s Ash? Interesting... Misty: Look, I thought this was supposed to be a pleasure cruise. So let’s just get on with it, okay? Misty steps on to the ship and walks off to a part of the deck where a lot of people are gathering. Arius: (reaching the ship) I wonder what central command will think of this. They never said that she and the boy were a couple. Arius heads towards the other end of the ship to find the housing quarters. A little later, he wanders back towards the swimming pool. He turns the corner, and there, lying on a chair, is the most beautiful girl that he’s ever seen. She’s wearing nothing but a two piece pink swimsuit and a pair of black sunglasses. Even though it was late October, it was warmer than usual, especially out at sea. After staring at her body for a minute or two, Arius managed to gather enough courage to approach her. Arius: Um, excuse me, miss. May I sit here? The girl responds with a simple nod of the head. Arius: (sitting down) Nice weather we’re having, huh? She just lies there, ignoring him. Arius: Hey, I’m sure tonight will be just as pleasant. Do you want to join me? The girl sits up and takes off her sunglasses. Arius, surprised at who it is, runs off before she can get a good glance at him. Believe it or not, the girl was none other than Misty. Misty: (yelling after him) Hey, did you say something? Oh well, his loss. Misty puts her sunglasses back on and lies back down to rest. That night, back on the ship, Arius lies sleeping in bed while Misty tries to call Ash again with her Pokédex. Misty: Ash, are you there? Come on, what kind of trainer doesn’t keep his Pokédex on him all the time. A clearing on Route 22. Ash, TJ, and Pikachu are already asleep in their sleeping bags. And wouldn’t you know it, Ash’s Pokédex is on a nearby tree stump. Back on the ship, Misty puts her Pokédex away. Misty: Ash, sometimes you make me so mad... She gets into bed to rest her eyes. The next morning, the Saint Veronica arrives at the island resort known as Porta Vista. The passengers get off, including Misty and Arius. Arius: All right! The island of Porta Vista! Come on, Misty, let’s have some fun. Misty: No thanks, Arius. I think I’ll just find a place to take a nap. Arius: A nap? Boy, Misty, you really haven’t been yourself lately. Are you sure? Misty: Yes, I’m sure. Now go on and enjoy yourself. I’ll be fine. Arius walks off with everyone else to the resort. Meanwhile, Misty has walked over towards a group of trees, away from all of the noise, to truly relax away from it all. Misty: (taking a seat under a tree) Ah, finally, a day away from Arius! I swear that boy’s hanging around me for some weird reason. Suddenly, Misty is met with a face full of water. Misty: (angry) Hey! What’s the big idea? She then spots the source... Misty: (pulling out her Pokédex) That’s a Vaporeon! Pokédex: Vaporeon, one of three evolved forms of Eevee. Vaporeon is known for its specialty of water attacks. Very few exist in the wild. Misty: No kidding. Usually, the only time someone sees one wild is if they’ve been abandoned by their trainers. (pulling out a Pokéball) Seeing as how that’s case, I might as well try and get it for myself. (throws it out) Misty calls Staryu! Staryu: Yu! Misty: Staryu, water gun! Staryu fires, but the shot is equalized by Vaporeon’s own water gun. Suddenly, Vaporeon faints. Misty: Oh no! What happened? Staryu, return! Staryu returns to its Pokéball, then she runs up to the fallen Vaporeon. Misty: Vaporeon! Are you okay? The Vaporeon does not respond. Misty: Oh no! I’ve got to get this Vaporeon to a Pokémon Center! Misty runs back to Porta Vista and easily locates a Pokémon Center. Misty drops off her other Pokémon as well. She decides to sit and wait. Suddenly, a strange egg rolls in and stops at her feet. She looks down and sees it. Misty: (picking it up) What’s this? An egg? I wonder what’s in it? Joy: Misty, your Pokémon are all recharged and ready to go! Meanwhile, Arius is at a videophone at a nearby hotel. He’s in the middle of a three-way conversation with Cassie and Patti. Arius: Cassie, Patti, I’m here in Porta Vista. Cassie: Porta Vista? What are you doing there? Patti: You were supposed to be following that girl! Arius: I am following her. And her name is Misty. Cassie: We know. But remember, you’re just following her! Arius: I know that! You don’t have to remind me. Cassie: Anyway, it shouldn’t be too long until we go after the others. Patti: Right. I’m already in Pewter City. Unfortunately, that fool Brock is never there! (Author’s Note: Yes, this leads into the story “The Date” from the “Three Short Stories” special released last week.) Cassie: Well, keep trying. We’ve got to reach him before Team Rocket does. Arius: And I’ll keep an eye on Misty. Good luck, girls. Patti: Arius, if I didn’t know any better, I’d think that you’re getting a little attached to her. Arius: (sweatdrops) Of course not. Cassie: You’d better watch yourself, Arius McFly, or it won’t be Team Rocket after you. It’ll be us! Arius: (gulps) Sure, sweetie. Arius out. The screen goes black. Back on the other side of the island, Misty, carrying the strange egg, is now in search for more new Pokémon. Misty: (walking) I wonder where this egg came from. Maybe it’s a bird’s egg. She then takes out Vaporeon’s Pokéball, and throws it on the ground. Vaporeon appears, but seems to be disappointed. Misty: Vaporeon, what’s wrong? Vaporeon turned away from Misty. Misty: Oh, I get it. I captured you when you were weak, and because of that I got an unfair advantage. Vaporeon: Vaporeon. Misty: Well, I didn’t mean to. It’s just that I’m going to need a lot of strong Pokémon to help battle against Sabrina, the gym leader in Saffron City. Vaporeon: Vaporeon? Vaporeon! Vaporeon lets loose a ray of water, which hits Misty square in the face. Misty was taken by surprise by this sudden burst, causing her to throw the egg into the air. It lands on the ground without breaking, but rolls towards and then down a nearby hill. Misty watches in horror as the egg continues rolling. Misty: (starting to give chase) Hey, come back here! Vaporeon just watches as the egg rolls closer to a nearby creek, then comes to an abrupt stop. Misty: (getting ready to reach down) All right, egg, time to come back to mommy! Misty doesn’t notice a large rock on the ground. She trips over it, falling face first into a puddle of mud. Misty: (pulling herself out) Why do these things always happen to me? Suddenly, a man in a lab coat comes over and helps Misty get up. Man: Well, young lady, you certainly took quite a spill there. Misty: (now on her feet) Thanks. Yuck! Now I’ve got to go to the resort and get myself cleaned up. Man: No need for that, dear. You can wash up in my laboratory. Misty: Wait! What about my Vaporeon? Man: Vaporeon? (looks to the top of the hill) Oh, that Vaporeon. Misty: (pulls out Vaporeon’s Pokéball) Vaporeon, return! Vaporeon dodges the beam of light from the Pokéball. Misty: Hey! Get back in your Pokéball! Man: Allow me, miss. He pulls out a small bag of food pellets and throws it towards the bottom of the hill. Vaporeon runs towards it to investigate, and then starts eating. Man: There. Recall it while it’s distracted. Misty: Right! Vaporeon, return! This time, Vaporeon returns without putting up a fight. Then the man picks up Misty’s egg and the bag of food pellets before leading her to his laboratory. Meanwhile, in a dark room in a building back on the mainland, an individual whose face is covered by darkness begins to speak to a second unidentifiable person. First Shadow: You know what to do. Second Shadow: Right. We’ll have Cassidy’s squad out of jail by nightfall. First Shadow: Good. Go then. The second bows to the first, then leaves. The first comes out of the shadow, and his face is revealed. It’s Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket. Giovanni: Once Cassidy, Butch, and Raticate are out of jail, then we’ll be able to begin our master plan. (Author’s Note: Referring to “Three Short Stories” once again; this one leads into the story “Conference.”) Back in Porta Vista, at a laboratory hidden partially by a grove of palm trees, Misty enters the main laboratory, back after cleaning herself off from falling in the mud. The old man was examining the egg before she came in. Man: Ah, I see you’re finally dry. Misty: Yeah. Hey, what are you doing with my egg? Man: Examining it. I thought this egg looked like a Pokémon egg. Misty: A Pokémon egg? Man: Yes. Although I’ve seen over three hundred Pokémon eggs before, I’ve never seen one like this before. Misty: Then how can you tell that it’s a Pokémon egg? Man: Don’t know. I just have a gut feeling that it’s a Pokémon egg. Misty: By the way, I didn’t quite catch your name. Man: I’m Professor Fir. I research Pokémon and their life cycles. Misty: You mean your job is to watch Pokémon live in the wild without interacting with them? Prof. Fir: Yes, that’s the gist of it. And you are? Misty: Misty. Prof. Fir: Misty, huh? I’m guessing that you specialize in raising water types. Misty: How did you know? Prof. Fir: Well, we professors never give away our secrets. Misty: What’s so secret of how you know I’m a water Pokémon trainer? Prof. Fir: (changing the subject) Anyway, let’s take a closer look at that egg. Professor Fir takes the egg over to an x-ray machine, and Misty follows him over there. He puts on a pair of black safety goggles and hands another pair to Misty. Prof. Fir: Here, put these on. They’ll shield your eyes from the short burst of radiation that I’m about to release. Misty puts them on just as he pulls the switch. A quick flash of green light, and the machine shuts off. Misty: Hey! At least give me a fair warning before you pull that switch! Prof. Fir: Sorry. I’m not used to having an assistant. Misty: An assistant? Prof. Fir: Yes, an assistant. You don’t know how hard it is to get good help way out here on the islands. Professor Oak had an old friend that was looking to be an assistant, but since he didn’t need any help, and he knew that I didn’t have as many available materials up here, he told me he was sending his friend up. He looks over Misty, and admires her beauty for the first time. Prof. Fir: But I didn’t know his friend was so young and beautiful! Misty: (blushing) I’m flattered, professor, but I’m not your new assistant. Prof. Fir: You’re not? (to himself) So much for a new girlfriend... Misty: I came here on a cruise ship with my friend, Arius. Prof. Fir: Oh, and where is this Arius? He can’t be much of a boyfriend if he runs off to do stuff by himself. Misty: (angry) Arius is not my boyfriend! Prof. Fir: (sarcastically) Sure. And I’m Bob Barker and you’re the next contestant on The Price is Right! Misty: (raising an eyebrow) Excuse me? Prof. Fir: Oh, nothing. So why are you here? Misty: Well, Arius won the tickets for the cruise at the Pokémon League Expert Tournament which was going on in Vermillion City over the weekend. Prof. Fir: I see. Misty: He thought that I needed a break from battling gym leaders so much. Prof. Fir: Yes, very watchful. Misty: You see, I’m trying to renew my trainer’s license. It expires in three weeks. And the only way I can renew it is to get four badges by then. Prof. Fir: Where in the world did you hear that from? Misty: From my sisters. Prof. Fir: They must be some evil sisters if they made you go on this silly and purposeless journey. Misty: Look, I know my sisters, but even if they were jealous of my talent, they still wouldn’t sink this low. Prof. Fir: Well, what do they know about Pokémon? Misty: Well, to tell you the truth, they’re the gym leaders in Cerulean City. Prof. Fir: Gym leaders, huh? Misty: They said their orders came from the league itself. Prof. Fir: Then something is definitely wrong. You see, I’m a member of the Pokémon League Research Board, and being so, I have direct connections with all the members of the Executive Board. And I’m sure in my twenty-five years of service that no such rule has been introduced or is in use right now. Misty: So there’s a possibility that someone is playing a trick on me? Prof. Fir: Possibly, if whoever is doing it is trying to separate you from your friends and family. Misty: But why would this person do such a thing? Prof. Fir: Who knows? In fact, there might be one person who might be a perfect suspect. Misty: Who? Prof. Fir: There’s only one possible suspect according to the circumstances, and that’s your so-called friend, Arius. Misty: Arius! ************************************************************************ Speaking of Arius, he’s back at the resort drinking down a glass of soda. Suddenly, the area shouts an uproar at a nearby TV. He walks over to see what’s going on. Arius: Hey, what just happened anyway? Guy #1: What do you mean what just happened? Have you been sitting over there by yourself for the last two hours? Arius: Well, yes I have. Guy #2: Man, you should have seen it. He went seventy-five and half feet to give the University of Porta Vista the lead over Pokémon Tech! Arius: That’s great! What sport is it, anyway? Guy #3: Coconuts! Arius: (sweatdrops) Coconuts? Guy #1: Yeah, they throw coconuts for distance, and the team that throws the coconuts the farthest combined distance wins! Arius facefaults to the ground, to the surprise of the others. Guy #2: (helping Arius up) Man, you’re acting like you’ve never seen the game of Coconuts before. Arius: I haven’t. In fact, I’ve never heard of it. This time, everyone else facefaults to the ground. They somehow manage to pick themselves back up afterwards. Guy #3: Man, you must have been hiding under a rock for your entire life. Guy #1: Let’s tell you how the sport got started. Guy #2: But it’s gotta be quick! Looks like Pokémon Tech is sending its best coconut thrower onto the field! Narrator: While Arius listens to a brief history about the sport of coconuts, let’s get back to Misty and Professor Fir. Misty: Sure Arius acts a little weird, but he doesn’t seem like the type of person who'd come after me for some reason. Prof. Fir: Maybe, but you can never be too sure. I’d watch your step if I were you. Misty: Trust me, professor, the day someone gets the drop on me is the day that my Psyduck evolves into a Golduck. Prof. Fir: Suit yourself. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. He hands Misty the egg back. She puts it in her satchel. Prof. Fir: Now, watch over that egg carefully. You never know when it’s going to hatch. Misty: (leaving the laboratory) Don’t worry, the egg’s in good hands. And thanks for your help! Misty leaves the lab, but then spots another Pokémon wandering nearby. Misty: What’s that? It looks familiar. The Pokémon finally comes into view. It happens to be a Poliwhirl. Misty: All right, a Poliwhirl! Time to capture it! She grabs one of her Pokéballs and throws it in front of the Poliwhirl. Vaporeon comes out of it. Misty: Vaporeon, go! Tackle that Poliwhirl to the ground! Vaporeon: Vaporeon! Poliwhirl takes off to try and get away, but Vaporeon follows it. Misty pulls out an empty Pokéball and runs after Vaporeon. She watches just as Vaporeon tackles Poliwhirl to the ground. Misty: Okay, Vaporeon, water gun! Vaporeon splashes Poliwhirl before it can defend itself, and it’s weakened significantly. Misty: All right Pokéball, go! The Pokéball hovers over Poliwhirl and sucks it in, then falls to the ground. Misty: Yes! I got Poliwhirl! She runs over to pick up the Pokéball. She then takes out Vaporeon’s Pokéball. Misty: (aiming it at Vaporeon) Vaporeon,... Vaporeon fires another water gun blast at Misty. At least this time, she’s only soaked, not bruised or covered in mud. Misty: ...return. (Vaporeon returns to the Pokéball) I don’t know who’s worse, Vaporeon or Psyduck. Prof. Fir: Oh Misty! Misty turns around and sees Professor Fir running up to her. Misty: Professor Fir! Is something wrong? Prof. Fir: Yes, something’s wrong! All you seem to do is catch water Pokémon! Misty: Well, duh. I am a water-type Pokémon trainer, remember? Prof. Fir: Of course I remember. But how do you expect to beat Sabrina in Saffron City with just water Pokémon? Misty: My Pokémon are strong enough to handle Sabrina! Prof. Fir: Oh, are they? Let me see them. Misty takes out her Pokéballs and hands them to Professor Fir. Misty: Let’s see. There’s Staryu, Starmie, Goldeen, Psyduck, Vaporeon, and... hey! Prof. Fir: What’s wrong? Misty: The Poliwhirl I just caught... it’s gone! Prof. Fir: What do you mean gone? You just caught it! Misty: (slaps her forehead with her hand) Oh, that’s right! That was my seventh Pokémon, so it was teleported to Cerulean City. Prof. Fir: Then it’s true! There is a Pokémon in that egg! Misty: I guess you’re right. Hey, I wonder if Poliwhirl has met my sisters yet... Switch to the Cerulean City gym. Violet is sitting in a chair by the pool, in a long green dress. Daisy and Lily are nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Misty’s Pokéball appears at the edge of the pool. Violet nearly falls over in her chair, but she manages to save herself. She gets up, walks over, and picks the Pokéball up. Violet: Like, where did this come from? Wait a minute, maybe it’s Misty’s seventh Pokémon! We’re supposed to receive her Pokémon after she gets six. She begins to play around with it, tossing it from one hand to the other. Violet: Hmm, I wonder what Pokémon she captured. She presses the button on the Pokéball, and out comes Poliwhirl, who immediately squirts water on Violet’s dress. Violet: No! That’s my favorite dress on Tuesdays! Like, you’re gonna pay! Come back here, you Poliwhirl! Violet begins to chase Poliwhirl around the pool. They run several laps around it. Violet, obviously tired of the run around, dives at Poliwhirl, but misses and ends up in the pool! This attracts her sisters out from hiding. The Poliwhirl jumps into Daisy’s arms. Lily runs over to help Violet get out of the pool. Violet: (angry and soaking wet) That Poliwhirl is, like, so dead! Lily: (holding her back) Whoa, Violet, calm down! Daisy: (walking up, with Poliwhirl in her hands) Violet, don’t tell me you went swimming in your favorite Tuesday dress! Violet: I didn’t! I was chasing that wretched Poliwhirl! Lily: Where did it come from anyway? Violet: It’s Misty’s. Lily: You mean she finally caught her seventh Pokémon? Daisy: (watching Poliwhirl play with one of her fingers) It’s so cute! Lily: (rolling her eyes) Okay, she’s out of it. Violet: Anyway, if that Poliwhirl knows what’s good for it, it won’t get in my way again. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go change. Violet leaves the room, Lily watches her dumbfoundedly, and Daisy is still playing around with Poliwhirl. Back in Porta Vista, Professor Fir has led Misty to an open field of grass. About three hundred feet away stood three different Pokémon: a Doduo to the left, a Fearow hovering in front of them, and a Scyther slightly to the right. Misty: Wow, three different Pokémon! But they’re not water types. Prof. Fir: Misty, that’s your problem. You’ve got to learn not to be dependent on one type. Having a variety might help you in some upcoming battles, especially against gym leaders who have an advantage over water types. Misty: I don’t need any variety! I only like water types. Prof. Fir: (looking over Misty’s Pokémon) Well, your team isn’t exactly the “dream team.” Staryu, Starmie, and Vaporeon splash their water guns at the professor. Misty can’t help but let out a small giggle. Prof. Fir: Well, if your team thinks that it’s so good, let’s see them catch one of those Pokémon. Misty: Okay, guys, time to take ‘em! Staryu, take Doduo! Starmie, knock that Fearow out of the sky! Vaporeon, put that Scyther in its place! Staryu: Yu! Starmie: Mie! Vaporeon: Por! Prof. Fir: Hey, what about Goldeen and Psyduck? Misty: Oh, them? Goldeen’s attacks are pretty weak, and Psyduck’s only at his best when his headache is severe. Prof. Fir: Just as I thought. Your team’s pathetic if it can’t work together as a unit. This remark, of course, makes Misty very angry. Misty: Pathetic? I’ll show you! Goldeen, Psyduck, go help the others! Goldeen: Goldeen, goldeen, goldeen. Psyduck: Psy? Duck? Goldeen flops over to help Staryu, while Psyduck waddles over to Starmie. Misty: Staryu and Starmie, tackle attack! Vaporeon, quick attack! Goldeen, peck! Psyduck, scratch! Narrator: Since it’s so hard to track three battles at once, we’ll do them one at a time. We’ll start with Staryu and Goldeen, who are facing off against Doduo. Staryu and Goldeen perform their attacks, and miss completely. Doduo responds with its own peck attack, knocking Goldeen out easily. Staryu fires the water gun, and hits Doduo in the head. Unfortunately, Staryu didn’t account for the other, and was knocked out when Doduo performed its fury attack. Misty saw this and promptly recalled her two Pokémon. Now, it’s Starmie and Psyduck against Fearow. Starmie’s tackle knocks Fearow to the ground, but Fearow responds by using leer. As the two Pokémon continue to fight, Psyduck just watches, waving its aching head back and forth. Soon, Starmie’s energy begins to get low, and Fearow begins to use its mirror move. Just a few seconds later, Starmie was on the ground, and Fearow flew away. Doduo, all though it couldn’t fly, followed Fearow as best as it could. Finally, the third match: Vaporeon versus Scyther. Vaporeon’s quick attack overwhelms Scyther pretty quickly, but the grass Pokémon makes up for it by using its focus energy attack. Scyther follows up with a slash, but then Vaporeon responds with the aurora beam. It freezes Scyther in place. The Scyther tries to break free, but is unable to. Misty pulls out a Pokéball and was about to throw it at Scyther, but then she spots Vaporeon staring at her with eyes of sadness. Misty reluctantly puts the Pokéball away, and after recalling everyone but Vaporeon, she leaves without a word, passing right by Professor Fir. Misty begins to walk back to the resort to find Arius, when Professor Fir, Vaporeon, and a thawed-out Scyther catch up to her. Misty: Professor! Vaporeon! Scyther? Scyther: Scy, scy! Vaporeon: Por! Vaporeon! Prof. Fir: I think the Scyther wants to go with you, Misty. Misty: Scyther? But why? Doesn’t he know that I hate bug Pokémon! Scyther: Scyther! Scy scy scyther! Vaporeon: Por! Vaporeon por va por eon! Prof. Fir: They insist on it, Misty. Misty walks up to Scyther, and doesn’t say a word until she pulls out a Pokéball. Misty: Scyther, are you sure you know what you’re about to do? Scyther: Scyther! Misty: Okay, then, Scyther. She places the Pokéball on the ground, Scyther pushes the button on it, and it is sucked inside. Misty: (to herself) I better not regret this. (to Vaporeon) So, what do you think about Scyther? Vaporeon: (happily) Vaporeon! Misty: I’m glad you like our new friend, Vaporeon. But promise me, you’ll never try to squirt me again. Vaporeon: (agrees) Vaporeon poreon! Misty recalls Vaporeon, then gets up and looks at Professor Fir. She hugs him for some unknown reason, and he’s shocked at the gesture. She then lets go, and begins to thank him. Misty: Professor Fir, thanks for everything you’ve taught me today! Prof. Fir: Me? Taught you? Oh no, Misty, everything that you’ve learned today is all your doing. Misty: I don’t understand, but thanks anyway! Misty begins to walk back to the resort, waving goodbye to Professor Fir, who’s waving back. Misty: Goodbye, professor! Professor Fir: Good luck on your journey! Tell Professor Oak to drop me a line the next time you see him! Narrator: And so, another day passes, and Misty’s taken one giant leap, both physically and mentally, on her way to getting all four badges! But now, it’s time for her to truly get the rest that she’s earned. Back in Cerulean City, Violet is poolside once again, in a similar dress like before, except this time it’s yellow and only goes down to her knees. Her crystal blue high heels shine brighter than the clear water that inhabits the pool. Suddenly, another Pokéball appears at the edge of the pool. It opens automatically, and out comes Scyther! Violet, without thinking twice, runs out of the gym, with the Scyther on her tail. Gee, who thought that she’d be the center of comic relief in this episode?
