Adventures Series, Episode 31 (Version 1.1), "Showdown in Viridian" Before beginning this chapter, I would like to thank one of my loyal readers, Matt Lenz. He has taken the time to help proofread the final chapters of this series. Trust me, it wasn't easy for him to look over 55 pages in about 48 hours, but he managed to succeed. It just goes to show that sometimes it takes two for a story to written correctly. Okay, enough from me. On with Chapter 13... Mikey, peeking over her left shoulder, slowly reads the caption to himself. Mikey: (silently reading) August 12th through the 28th at the Indigo Plateau. All competitors must have completed the necessary entrance requirements and have their entry forms submitted by July 15th. Misty: This means that I only have a week to go. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for three months to get another shot at entering the League. [1] Mikey: Don't worry, Misty! I know you can do it. Misty: Thanks. A little later, the two of them and Todd enter the city. Misty is overcome with excitement, as she prances around Mikey and Todd like a little fairy. (Begin playing "Viridian City" in the background) Todd: Here we are... Viridian City. Misty: It's a miracle... I finally made it! Todd: Don't get so excited. Remember, you still have to get the Earth Badge! Misty: (she stops, and so does the music) Oh, right. Well, let's get going then. The trio begins walking towards the Pokémon gym. At that precise moment, one of the rooms inside the gym lights up. The members of all three roaming factions of Team Rocket stand at attention, awaiting their orders from their boss, Giovanni. Giovanni: I'm giving you all one more chance to redeem yourselves. You're all failed in stopping those kids! Failure is not acceptable in Team Rocket! Cassidy: If that's the case, Jessie and James here should have been kicked off months ago! Jessie: (glaring at Cassidy) Sure, we've failed more missions than you and Butch, but unlike you, we manage to stay out of prison! Butch: At least we have Pokémon that obey us! James: So what? We'll have more fashion sense than you'll ever have! Jane: Will you four stop bickering? I'm tired of you guys trying to debate which of you is the better team... so stop it! Jessie: And who are you to tell us what to do? Cassidy: We've got more field experience than you do, dear. If anyone should be following orders, it should be you! Calamity: (fixing his new pair of glasses) Stop picking on my partner! Butch: Oh, and I suppose you want us to pick on you? James: Ooh, me first! Since when does a member of Team Rocket wear glasses? Giovanni: All of you shut up! All 6 Rockets: (returning to attention) Yes, sir. Giovanni: Now, you all know the plan. And remember, no matter what happens, the water trainer from Cerulean City and the Pokémon photographer must be defeated today! In another part of the city... the Pokémon Center, to be exact... a familiar figure approaches. She enters, and pulls out her Pokéballs to give to Nurse Joy. Girl: Hi! Could you please heal my Pokémon? Joy: Of course. Say, are you a new trainer? I haven't seen you here before... Girl: (handing over her Pokéballs) Hardly. I'm a recent graduate student from Pokémon Tech. Joy: The great Pokémon Tech, huh? So, what brings you to this neck of the woods? Girl: (playing with a lock of her hair) I'm on my way to Pallet Town to meet the great Professor Oak. But first, I'm checking up on a friend of mine. She's here to get an Earth Badge. Joy: (heading towards the back) Well, I hope your friend has some aces up her sleeve. No one's gotten an Earth Badge in over a week now... Giovanni must really be cracking down on the competition. Joy leaves, as the girl turns around to face the camera. It's Giselle, and as the gleam of the sun begins to show her radiant beauty, we see that she is deep in thought. Giselle: Giovanni... where have I heard that name before? ************************************************************************ Adventures Series, Season 1 [Episode 31] "Misty's Travels to the Pokémon League" Chapter Thirteen: "Showdown in Viridian" Story written by Freedom Fighter ************************************************************************ Narrator: After her long journey, Misty prepares to enter the Viridian City gym. She already knows of the danger that awaits her just ahead. Unfortunately, she also has to account for her traveling partners, Todd and Mikey, who have no idea of the events that are about to unfold before them. Mikey: Wow! There it is! Todd: (taking out his camera and beginning to snap pictures) I've never seen such a magnificent gym before. Misty: (sarcastically) Wait until you see the inside. Todd: Yeah... I bet the gym leader lives like a king! The trio walks up to the doors, which are currently unguarded. Misty: That's strange. Mikey: What's strange? Misty: There are usually two men out front that guard the entrance. Mikey: Maybe they're on their lunch break. Misty: They can't be. It's only a quarter after ten. Mikey: Who cares? Let's go in! Todd pushes the door open, and leads the way into the main room, which is currently lit up, but surprisingly empty. Mikey: Hello! Is anyone here? Misty: (becoming cautious) Be on your guard, guys. Todd: Why? Suddenly, the doors to the gym close, and the lights in the room go out. Misty: That's why. Mikey: Misty! I'm scared of the dark! Misty: Grab my hand, Misty. Mikey: Is that you? Todd: (making a choking sound) Ack! Stop pulling on my camera straps! A spotlight then appears on the balcony. A figure comes out; it's the blue haired member of Team Rocket Black, Butch. The Team Rocket motto music begins to play. Butch: To blight all peoples within my nation! To extend my wrath to the stars above! I'm Butch, so surrender to me now or you will surely lose the fight. The trio wasn't paying any attention to him, though. Mikey: You mean Team Rocket controls this gym? Todd: Wait... isn't that the guy from the breeding center? Misty: Yep, you're both right. That's Butch, the one with the frog in his throat. Butch: I do not have a frog in my throat! Todd: You know, I just noticed that! Misty: Yeah. Kinda weird, isn't it? Butch: Shut up! Look, are we going to battle, or what? Misty: Why would I want to battle you? Butch pulls out the Earth Badge and shows it to Misty. Misty: Oh yeah... that's right. Butch jumps down from the balcony, and lands on his face. He quickly gets up and dusts himself off. He then glances at Misty before he starts talking again. Butch: If you want the Earth Badge, follow me. Otherwise, don't waste my time. Misty: (taking out a Pokéball) You want a match? You got one. A door opens behind Butch and he walks towards it. Todd: (putting his hand on Misty's left shoulder) Wait. Misty: (turning around) What? Todd: This could be a trap, you know. Misty: I know it's a trap. Team Rocket's been after me for about a year now, and they think that this is the perfect time to catch me off guard. Well, I won't let them. They won't stand a chance against my most powerful Pokémon team. Mikey: (tugging at Misty's right leg) Misty. Misty: Yes, Mikey? Mikey: Be careful. She kneels down and gives him a reassuring kiss on the forehead. Misty: Don't worry... I will. Todd: Um, Misty, maybe you should leave one of your Pokémon with us... you know, if we get into trouble. Misty: Why would they want you guys, anyway? I'm the one with the talent here. Besides, I've got a strange feeling that I'm going to need all six of them. With that, she walks through the open door's threshold. Soon after, the doors close. The lights go back on, but Todd and Mikey now find themselves surrounded by a legion of Rocket members. Todd: Crud. Just our luck to be outnumbered again. Mikey: (throws out Eevee's Pokéball) Go, Eevee! Eevee: Vee! Mikey: Okay Eevee, this is where we find out if all of our training paid off! Todd expected the Rockets to laugh, but instead, they all pull out Pokéballs to battle with. Todd: Just how many hours have you trained altogether with that Eevee of yours? Mikey: I don't know... about sixty, I guess. Todd: We're doomed. Mikey: Think positive, Todd. Todd: If you say so. (sighs) I'm positive that we're doomed. Mikey: That's not what I meant. The Rockets begin to approach the duo and a growling Eevee. In the next room, Misty, with her satchel strung over her left shoulder, tries to decide which Pokémon to use against Butch. Butch: Two on two. If you win, I'll give you the badge. Misty: And if I win, you'll turn yourself over to Officer Jenny! Butch: Don't make my laugh. And since you're a water trainer, I know the perfect Pokémon to use against you. (throws a Pokéball) Go, Electabuzz! Electabuzz: Bubblalla-buzz! Misty: (throws a Pokéball towards the center) Misty calls Poliwrath! Poliwrath: Bleep! Butch: (snickering) Shut it down with a thunder punch! Misty: Poliwrath, look out! Poliwrath barely avoids Electabuzz. The water Pokémon responds with a doubleslap straight to the electric Pokémon's belly. Butch: Enough playing around. Electabuzz, thunder. Poliwrath is hit hard. Misty begins to worry. Misty: Poliwrath! Butch: Another shot of thunder, Electabuzz! Misty: (screaming) No! Poliwrath skips to the side to avoid the full blast of the attack. She's looking pretty weak now, though. Misty: (pulling out Poliwrath's Pokéball) Poliwrath, return! Butch: Ready to give up? Misty: Never! (throws another Pokéball) Misty calls Jigglypuff! Jigglypuff: Jigglypuff! Butch: You've gotta be kidding! Electabuzz, thundershock! Misty: Jigglypuff, disable! Electabuzz fails to perform the attack. Jigglypuff then begins to sing. Misty: Wait, Jigglypuff, don't sing yet! Jigglypuff: (singing) Jig-gly-puff, jig-gly-yy-puff! Jig-gly-puff, jiggly! Misty, Butch, and Electabuzz all fall asleep. Jigglypuff, angry that no one listened to her song, begins to beat up on Electabuzz with several doubleslaps and body slams. Afterwards, she begins her assault on Misty and Butch. Meanwhile, at the Pokémon Center, Ash and Pikachu step out, ready for a battle. Brock follows, with a big shoe print stamped all over his face. Ash: (looking at Brock) You're lucky Joy decided to wear sneakers today. Imagine what would have happened if she was wearing her heels. Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika pika. Back at the gym, Misty wakes up with a gigantic headache. On the other side of the room, both Butch and Electabuzz are also getting up. Jigglypuff stands in the middle of the arena, still angry. Butch: That's it! I'm totally ticked off! Electabuzz, quick attack! Electabuzz was too tired to attack. Jigglypuff used it to her advantage. Misty: Jigglypuff, double edge! Although unsure of the attack, Jigglypuff followed her master's orders. She attacked, knocking the last of Electabuzz's energy out, but not without losing some of her own. Butch: Impossible! How can a pint-size Jigglypuff beat a large Pokémon like Electabuzz? Misty: (smiling) It's all in the training, Butch. Jigglypuff: (nodding in agreement) Jiggly! Butch: If that's true, then let's get back to basics! (throws a Pokéball) Raticate, go! Misty: Jigglypuff, doubleslap! Butch: Raticate, toxic! Jigglypuff doubles over in pain, obviously feeling the poison coursing through her body. Misty: (pulling out two Pokéballs) Jigglypuff, return! Misty calls Poliwrath! Poliwrath returns to the battlefield, looking a little better than before, but still very weak. Butch: Raticate, hyper fang! Misty: Poliwrath, hydro pump! Raticate is overcome with water. He swallows too much, and he faints in exhaustion. Misty: (jumping up and down) Yeah, I won, I won! Butch: (recalling Raticate) Lucky shot. Misty: So, what about my Earth Badge? Butch: (throws it to Misty, then runs off) See ya later, toots. Misty: Finally, I can enter the Pokémon League. She then stops dead in her tracks, as she realizes that something is wrong. Misty: Hey! This is a fake! She folds the badge in half and then rips it apart. Misty: It's made of paper! I can't believe I was tricked so easily! She then glances at the open door at the other end of the room. Misty: Well, if Team Rocket wants to play, then I'll play. (clenches her fist, then raises it in the air) I'll do whatever it takes to win! ************************************************************************ Meanwhile, Giselle is walking toward the Pokémon gym, with a water bottle in hand. She uses her other hand to try and wipe the sweat off of her forehead. Giselle: Misty just had to go and pick a day like today to come to Viridian City. She sees a bench and goes to sit down. She takes a swig of her bottle before once again wiping her sweat away. Giselle: What I wouldn't give for a water Pokémon right now. Back at the gym, Misty kneels down to check on Jigglypuff. Misty: Jigglypuff, are you feeling okay? Jigglypuff: (feeling woozy) Puffff... Jigglypuff then starts to make her way towards one of Misty's Pokéballs. But she then bends over in exhaustion. Misty: Jigglypuff? Jigglypuff: (pointing towards Misty's belt) Puff, puff. Misty: You want me to call out Tentacool? Jigglypuff: Puff. Misty: Okay then... Misty calls Tentacool! Tentacool comes out of his Pokéball, as he looks around and sees that there isn't any Pokémon around to battle. He then notices Jigglypuff with a sick look on her face. He slithers over and the two Pokémon begin to converse. Tentacool: Tenta, tentacool? Jigglypuff: Puff, jigglypuff puff. Jiggly jiggly puff! Tentacool: Tentacool! Cool cool tenta tentacool. Jigglypuff: Jiggly jiggly puff jigglypuff, puff jigglypuff! Misty looks on, having no idea what they are talking about. Suddenly, Tentacool jams one of his tentacles into Jigglypuff's side. Jigglypuff screams in pain, jogging Misty's attention. Misty: Tentacool, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill Jigglypuff or what? Tentacool glanced at his trainer, giving her a look that told her that he knew what he was doing. Somewhat relieved by that answer, Misty steps back, as Tentacool begins to glow blue, and Jigglypuff begins to scream once again. Misty's Pokédex begins to beep again, so she pulls it out and aims it at her two Pokémon. Pokédex: Poison drain, an attack of Tentacool's that partially drains the poison from another Pokémon who has been affected by poison. Tentacool will suck up the poison and use it as its own for future battles. This attack is so rare that it has only been documented thanks to the studies of Tentacool and Tentacruel by water researchers last year. [2] Tentacool then releases his grip, and Jigglypuff stops screaming. Both Pokémon are now exhausted from the ordeal, but otherwise okay. Misty: Well, at least it's a temporary solution to the poison problem. I guess you two needs some rest. She recalls them both to her Pokéballs. Misty: Now... back to business. She walks through the door, where Cassidy awaits her in the next room. Cassidy: Finally. It took you long enough. Misty: Consider that short breather a reprieve, because it's an all out battle from here on out. Cassidy: If you say so. Now, to infect the world with devastation, to denounce the goodness of truth and love, I, Cassidy, will circle Earth all day and night to teach you a lesson. Misty: (yawns) Boring! Let's just get started. I know you're just as anxious to get this over with. Cassidy: (smiles) If you insist. (throws a Pokéball) Go, Arcanine. Misty: (throwing a Pokéball of her own) Misty calls Vaporeon! Cassidy: Arcanine, fire spin! Vaporeon becomes engulfed with flames. Although the fire does not weaken her, she's having trouble escaping as well. Misty: Hang tough, Vaporeon! Use your hydro pump to get out! Cassidy: Not so fast! Arcanine, take down! Arcanine's head collides with Vaporeon's body, and the two Pokémon tumble to the ground. They both get up just as easily. Misty: Vaporeon, mist! The area becomes misty, and Arcanine is having trouble locating Vaporeon. Cassidy: Arcanine, be on your guard! That Vaporeon could be anywhere. Misty: Aurora beam! The mist clears, and Cassidy finds her Arcanine encased in an ice block. Vaporeon stands in front of Misty, happy with glee. Misty: Okay, Vaporeon, tackle! Cassidy: (pulling out a Pokéball) Arcanine, return! The beam captures Arcanine before Vaporeon can make the final blow. Cassidy: (throws out another Pokéball) Machamp, go! Misty: Big mistake, Cassidy! Two Pokéballs come flying off of Misty's belt. One recalls Vaporeon back, while the other unleashes Golduck onto the field. Cassidy: Machamp, seismic toss! Misty: Easy as pie... Golduck, confusion attack! Golduck: (eyes glowing blue) Gol... duck! Machamp faints immediately on the spot. Misty: Ha! Taken down with one hit! Cassidy reluctantly recalls Machamp and sends out the still frozen Arcanine. She then begins to search herself for an Ice Heal. Meanwhile, Golduck looks to finish the job. Misty: I won't miss this time. Golduck, hydro pump! That ends the match, as Arcanine faints. Cassidy: (holding Arcanine's Pokéball) Return! Misty: Gee, Cassidy, is that all? Butch fought much better than you did. Cassidy: Shut up! I was just softening you up for Jane and Calamity. They'll finish you off. With that, Cassidy runs off into the next room. Misty and Golduck follow suit, and as per usual, the doors close behind them. Misty's next opponents were already waiting, and prepared to battle. Jane, Calamity, and Pidgeo: (simultaneously) Prepare for trouble and make it double! Jane: To introduce the world to devastation! Calamity: To love our team and unite our nation! Jane: To denounce the values known as truth and love! Calamity: To extend our knowledge to the stars above! Jane: Jane! Calamity: Calamity! Jane: Team Rocket, the best when stealing Pokémon is right! Calamity: Surrender now, or prepare for a fight! Pidgeo: Pidgeo! Get ready to lose! Misty: (taking out Golduck's Pokéball) Return, Golduck. You know, you guys are really starting to get on my nerves. Jane: Really? Calamity: We've been on your nerves since Cerulean City! An extra ten minutes won't kill you. Pidgeo: So prepare for a fight! Jane: (hitting Pidgeo on the head) We said that already! Calamity: Let's get started! (rolls his Pokéball along the ground) Kabuto, go! Misty: A rock and water double type. Interesting. (chooses one of her Pokéballs and throws it to the ground) Misty calls Tentacool. She then reaches into her satchel and pulls out a square box marked "HM 3" on it. She breaks it open and throws it to the ground in front of Tentacool. A blue mist surrounds the Pokémon, and the Team Rocket trio looks on in surprise. Jane: What was that? Calamity: It looked like an HM. Pidgeo: I think it was number three... but what does that one do again? The mist disappears, and Tentacool appears with an aqua colored glint in his eyes. Misty: Tentacool, ride that surf! A large wave of water appears behind Tentacool as it all comes crashing down on Kabuto. He becomes slightly dazed, but he's still in the fight. Calamity: My turn... Kabuto, absorb that Tentacool's energy. It proves effective, as Tentacool begins to show signs of weakness. Calamity: Now, follow it up with your slash attack! Kabuto slashes at Tentacool, hitting him between the eyes. Tentacool finally gets his wits together enough to retaliate. Misty: Okay Tentacool, acid attack, followed by your water gun! Both attacks connect, leaving Kabuto as equally dazed as Tentacool. Both Misty and Calamity were set on winning the match. Back in the main room, Eevee was using his tackle attacks and his quick attacks to keep Team Rocket's Pokémon at bay. But he was barely hanging in there, especially since he was up against a Pidgeot, a Spearow, an Ekans, a Starmie, a Nidorino, and a Koffing simultaneously. Mikey: Hang in there, Eevee! You can do it! Todd suddenly spots an air vent towards the left side of the room. Todd: Mikey, look over there. Mikey: It's an air vent. Say, do you think we can fit? Todd: We can sure try... get Eevee and let's go! Mikey pulls Eevee away just as Koffing fires off a sludge attack at it. Mikey follows Todd over to the vent, where he takes off the cover and lifts Mikey into it. Rocket Member # 1: (pointing towards them) Let's get 'em! Todd: Hurry! Mikey climbs into the vent, and Todd lifts Eevee up after him. Todd then jumps to avoid the diving Rockets. He manages to squeeze into the tube and follow Mikey and Eevee down. The Rockets surround the pipe, but all look on in disgust because they're all too big to fit. Rocket Member # 1: Now what? Rocket Member # 2: (pointing to another Rocket) Hey, your Ekans might be able to fit. Rocket Member # 3: (pulling out a small bomb) Why risk it? Let's just blow 'em up instead. Rocket Member # 1: Good point. They throw the small bomb down the vent. It doesn't take long to reach our heroes. Mikey: What's that sound? Eevee: Vee? Todd: I don't know... I don't have enough room to turn around and see. He then feels a round object planted by his right shoe. Todd: Mikey, do you hear that? Mikey: Yeah... sounds like something is hissing. Eevee: (running through Todd's legs) Vee, vee? Mikey: (sneaking a peek back) It's a bomb! Todd: (kicking his foot back) A bomb! Mikey: Todd... you kicked it back down the vent! Sure enough, the bomb was rolling away. Todd: Quick, let's get a move on before it... They hear a bomb go off. At the other end, the Rockets are covered with soot from the explosion. Rocket Member # 1: (coughs) Okay, let's try the Ekans. Rocket Member # 4: Ekans, get those kids! Ekans: Ekans! Ekans climbs into the vent and chases after Todd, Mikey, and Eevee. Rocket Member # 5: That should take care of them. The Rockets begin to break out in laughter, when they're interrupted, as the door into the gym bursts open. They look as Giselle steps through the rubble and into the gym. Giselle: (in a sweet voice) Hi! Would any of you darlings be interested in trading a Nidorina for my Cubone? Rocket Member # 1: (smiling) Sure, we can discuss it over dinner and dancing. Right, guys? The other Rockets were smiling. Giselle's plan was working perfectly... they were too distracted by her good looks that they didn't notice Graveler and Golem walking in to take care of their Pokémon. Giselle: (stepping back) You know what? I changed my mind. Graveler, earthquake! Graveler's attack renders the Rockets unconscious, as their Pokémon faint. Giselle: (blowing a kiss) Sorry guys, but I'd like to check on a friend of mine, if you don't mind. She walks towards the first set of locked doors, with Graveler and Golem following her. Further on in, the battle between Misty and Team Rocket Orange continues. Misty's Tentacool and Calamity's Kabuto are both barely hanging on for dear life. Misty: Tentacool, poison sting! Calamity: Kabuto, slash attack! They trade hits that are both strong enough to result in a double knockout. The trainers both recall their Pokémon back. Calamity: That's one down and five to go. Jane: It'll soon be two, since that Jigglypuff of hers is poisoned. Misty: Don't worry about me! I'll have enough Pokémon left to beat the likes of you! Pidgeo: Well, I'm about to change that. Jane: Pidgeo? Calamity: You mean you're going to battle one of her Pokémon? Pidgeo: Of course... I'm a shoe in to win! (to Misty) Bring it on! Misty: Okay, you asked for it! (throws another Pokéball) Misty calls Vaporeon! Jane: What? Calamity: Pidgeo, come back! It's a mismatch! Pidgeo: Don't worry, I can handle it. (to Misty and Vaporeon) Watch me take to the air! Misty: Vaporeon, freeze that bird with your aurora beam! Pidgeo flies high into the air, dodging the beam. He then dives at Vaporeon, connecting with the head. But it's Vaporeon who has the last laugh, as she bites Pidgeo on the feathers. Pidgeo: Ouch! No fair biting! Misty: (laughs) Shows how much you know... Vaporeon, blind Pidgeo with your sand attack! Vaporeon follows suit, and Pidgeo is now at a real disadvantage. Misty: Now, aurora beam! Pidgeo can't dodge in time, and he easily falls to Vaporeon. Misty: Ha! Only one more to go! Calamity walks over and picks up Pidgeo from the floor. Calamity: Stupid bird... why didn't you listen? Jane: Okay, play time's over kid! (kissing her Pokéball before throwing it) Pinsir, go! Misty: Pinsir... Vaporeon should be able to handle this one as well. Jane: (calling over) Are you kidding? Of course Vaporeon will beat my Pinsir. Of course, if you're looking for a challenge, then I suggest you choose another Pokémon. Misty: Excuse me? Calamity: Jessie and James await you in the next room, and they're not exactly the easiest two members to beat. Misty: You mean those clowns? Jane: They've gotten some new Pokémon since you last met them. You've got to be ready for anything. Calamity: They're more powerful than you can imagine. And with three Pokémon each, they'll be tough to beat. Misty: All the more to use Vaporeon and get an easy victory on you now, so that I have five Pokémon to use against them. Jane: Look, kid, just bring out someone else besides that Vaporeon to battle! Calamity: All we're looking for is a fair fight! Misty: A fair fight? Give me a break... Suddenly, one of Misty's Pokéballs begins to shake. Misty: Jigglypuff? No, that's number three. This one's number five... Scyther? She throws the Pokéball to the ground and out comes Scyther. Misty: Scyther? What's wrong? Scyther suddenly charges for Pinsir, and the two get into a scuffle. Misty: Scyther, what are you doing? Jane: Pinsir, vice grip! Pinsir takes control and starts to squeeze Scyther. He escapes, and starts to fly around. Vaporeon watches from the sidelines over this recent development, and Misty is panic-stricken. Misty: (pulling out Scyther's Pokéball) Scyther, return! Scyther, return! Scyther kept dodging the beam of his Pokéball, but it distracts him from the battle at hand, as Pinsir continued to slash at him. Misty: What's going on? Scyther's always obeyed me before. Calamity: Remember that fake Earth Badge that Butch gave you earlier? Jane: It's a new toy that we stole from the Silph Company... you see, we knew you'd tear up that badge once you discovered that it was a fake. Calamity: Unknown to you, though, that badge was sprayed with a hint of a new confusion potion... guaranteed to disrupt the training of one of the trainer's Pokémon for four hours! Misty: But how did it reach Scyther? It's been in its Pokéball all day! Jane: The particles from the potion are actually little remote controlled robots that randomly attack one Pokémon. They are designed to sneak in through the cracks designed in the Pokéball, especially where the Pokéballs open up. Misty: Only you Rockets would resort to cheating to win a battle! Calamity: Exactly. Now... prepare for your last battle! Jane: Pinsir, guillotine! Finish it off! Pinsir's claws begin to crush Scyther's body. The confused Pokémon is unable to escape Pinsir's deadly grip. Misty: Scyther! No! Vaporeon: (with a worried cry) Por! Narrator: Has Team Rocket finally found a way to defeat Misty? Can Scyther escape the clutches of Jane's Pinsir? Or will Misty find herself at a major disadvantage when she goes up against Jessie and James... if she makes it that far? And how will Mikey, Todd, Giselle, Brock, and Ash play into all of this?
