What are we doing near Viridian City? I thought Ash already got the Earth Badge! The camera pans down until we see Misty walking on a dirt path towards the city. Narrator: Misty! What are you doing here? Misty: What do you mean? I’ve been here since episode one! Narrator: Where’s Ash? And Pikachu? And Brock? Misty: Don’t you remember what happened? Narrator: No. Did I miss something? Misty: (sighs, then begins to flashback) We were on our way to Pallet Town when Brock left to continue his quest to become the world’s greatest Pokémon breeder! Ash, Pikachu, and I went to Ash’s house, then to Professor Oak’s laboratory, where we ran into Gary again. As you know, boys will be boys, and they challenged each other to a match! Meanwhile, I get a call from my sisters, who told me that I must get a gym badge by tomorrow or I’ll lose my trainer’s license! And so, after saying goodbye to Ash and Pikachu, I left. Now I’m on my way to Pewter City to get a Boulder Badge. (giggles) I can’t wait to see the look on Brock’s face when he sees me! Narrator: Wait a minute, Misty! You’re going solo? Misty: Yep! So look out world, ‘cause here comes Misty! ************************************************************************ Adventures Series, Episode 2 “Misty’s Travels to the Pokémon League,” Chapter One: “Old Friends, New Enemies” Story Written by The Freedom Fighter ************************************************************************ Narrator: Misty’s on her way to Pewter to get a Boulder Badge, but to get there she’ll have to go through Viridian City first. Misty then spots a familiar site. Misty: That’s Officer Jenny’s Roadside Check Station! I wonder if she’s around? Sure enough, Officer Jenny is inside, doing paperwork as usual. She’s interrupted strange knock at her door. Jenny: Come in! Misty: Hi, Officer Jenny! Jenny: Oh, hello Misty! How are you doing today? Misty: Fine. Jenny: That’s good. Say, where’s your friend Ash? Misty: He’s preparing for the Pokémon League Novice Tournament back in Pallet. Jenny: Why aren’t you with him? Misty: Well, I’ve been forced to get a Boulder Badge by tomorrow in order to keep my trainer’s license. Jenny: Really? That’s terrible! How are you planning to get there? Misty: By walking. But at this rate, I’ll never make it there in time. Jenny: Don’t worry, Misty! I’ll help you out. Officer Jenny goes to the videophone and makes a phone call. Nurse Joy appears on the screen. Joy: This is the Viridian City Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy speaking. Jenny: Officer Jenny, Viridian City Police. Did you say you needed a driver to deliver a package to Pewter City? Joy: Yes! Have you found someone? Jenny: I sure have. I’ll bring her right over. Joy: And don’t forget to use the driveway this time! Misty: What does she mean this time? Jenny sweatdrops in embarrassment. Just seconds later, Jenny revs up her bike and takes off for the Pokémon Center, with Misty in tow. It only takes them a minute to get there. Inside, Joy waits for them at the front desk. Joy: Well, if it isn’t Misty! Where’s Ash? Jenny: He’s preparing for the Pokémon League Tournament next month. Anyway, Misty needs to get to Pewter City fast. She needs to earn a Boulder Badge by tomorrow or they’ll take away her trainer’s license. Joy: Who’ll take your license, Misty? Misty: The Pokémon League! Joy: My, that is bad! I’ve got just the thing! Follow me, Misty! (to Jenny) And thanks for using the driveway this time, Officer! Jenny: Much obliged, Nurse Joy! (to Misty) Good luck, Misty. Misty: Thanks, Officer Jenny! Jenny: Well, I’ve gotta get back to work. Bye! Officer Jenny leaves. Nurse Joy then leads Misty to the garage. There, a motor scooter sits idle in the driveway. Misty: Wow! A motor scooter! Joy: Yes, this should get you to Pewter by nightfall. She hands Misty a small package, a map, the keys to the motor scooter, and a helmet. Joy: Now, Misty. Make sure this package gets to the Pokémon Center in Pewter before they close for the night. And this map will keep you from getting lost in the Viridian Forest. Here are the keys, and a helmet to wear to keep your head safe. Misty: Thanks, Joy! Joy: Oh, and one more thing. She hands Misty an ID card. Joy: If you get pulled over by the police, and they ask for a driver’s license, show them this. They know what it is, and they’ll let you go without any trouble. Misty: Thanks! Joy: Good luck on your journey, and give my regards to Ash! Misty: Goodbye, Nurse Joy! I’ll see you when I return for the Earth Badge in a few months. Misty starts the motor scooter, places the package in the scooter’s cargo cart, puts her helmet on, and takes off towards Pewter City. Without any trouble at all, Misty arrives in Pewter City just before sunset. She drives toward the Pokémon Center. Once there, she drives into the garage, parks the motor scooter, takes off her helmet, takes the keys out of the ignition, then heads inside with the package. She approaches the front desk, but no one seems to be there. Misty rings the bell there. Misty: Hello, Nurse Joy! I’m here to deliver a package from Viridian City! A Chansey comes forward from the back room. Chansey: Chansey! Misty: Chansey, do you know where Nurse Joy is? Chansey: Chansey! Chansey points to the operating room, where the red light is on. Misty: Oh, I see. Do you mind if I wait here for her? Chansey: (nodding in agreement) Chansey! Misty: Thanks! Chansey then returns to the back room, and Misty goes over to the videophone. She dials a number, and Violet appears on the phone. Violet: Violet of the Sensational Sisters here! Oh, hi Misty! Where are you calling from? Misty: The Pewter City Pokémon Center. Violet: Good! You arrived just in time! You know, your license expires tomorrow. Misty: Don’t worry, I know how Brock fights. He’ll be a pushover. Violet: You sound so confident. Are you sure you don’t need any help? Misty: I’m fine, thanks. By the way, where’s Lily and Daisy? Violet: They’re off training. We’ve gotta be ready when you come to get a Cascade Badge. Just because we’re your sisters doesn’t mean we’re gonna make it easy for you. Misty: I know. Well, when you see me next week, I’ll either be challenging you to a Pokémon match, or I’ll be giving you my Pokémon. Violet: Stop being so down! I know you can win, Misty! Good luck! Violet disappears from the screen. Misty looks at the clock. It’s half past seven. She decides to rest in a chair. Misty: Wait a minute... why would they be preparing for me when I don’t even need a Cascade Badge? Something’s up... With that in mind, she falls asleep in the chair, with the package in her lap. Morning arrives in Pewter City. Misty awakens and sees Nurse Joy at the front desk. Nurse Joy sees Misty and smiles. Joy: Good morning! Misty: Morning, Nurse Joy! Joy: Thanks for getting the delivery here on time, Misty! Misty: No problem. Joy: There’s some food over in the cafeteria, if you’re hungry. And thanks again! About an hour later, with Misty refreshed after a good night’s sleep and a good meal, she arrives at the Pewter Gym. She opens the door, and a mysterious shadow awaits her. Misty: Hello! I’ve come to fight for a Boulder Badge! Brock: Is this your first Pokémon gym battle? Misty: Brock, is that you? Brock: So my fame precedes me. You may battle me, on one condition. Misty: Which is? Brock: (beginning to plead) Promise you’ll go out with me afterwards! Misty: What?! Brock comes out of the shadows, and is welcomed warmly with a slap across the face. Brock: Ouch! Misty? What are you doing here? Misty: I’m here to earn a Boulder Badge! Brock begins to laugh hysterically. Misty sweatdrops as she watches him, then pulls a mallet out of nowhere, and hits him on the head! Brock falls to the ground, still laughing, and a bump sticking out the top of his head. Misty: Oh, I give up. Brock, get up! Brock: Misty? What on earth are you doing here? And where’s Ash? Misty: (angry) Is everyone going to ask me that stupid question? Whenever I talk to someone, they ask about Ash, never about me! Hello, I’m the one standing here! Brock: Calm down, Misty, I just thought you’d be helping him train for the Pokémon League. Misty: (settling down) I wish I could, but I’ve got a problem. You see, if I don’t get a badge by seven o’ clock tonight, I lose my trainer’s license! Brock: Are you sure you want to battle me for a badge? You don’t look like the Pokémon master type of person. Misty: Oh yeah, Brock? I’ll show you! Let’s get started! Brock: Just like Ash... Misty: What did you say Brock? Brock: Nothing, eh... I’d better get my Pokéballs. A few minutes later, the arena is set for battle. Misty and Brock take their places at the respective ends of the field. Misty: (to herself) This shouldn’t be too hard. Water Pokémon have an advantage over rock Pokémon. Brock: (yelling) Misty, two on two sound fine to you? Misty: Sure! Mind if I throw out the first Pokéball? Brock: Sure, why not. (to himself) Man, I’d use Zubat against her water Pokémon, but gym trainers aren’t allowed to use Pokémon that aren’t the specialty of their gym in a battle for a badge. Now which one should I choose? Misty: (throwing her Pokéball) Misty calls Staryu! Out of Misty’s satchel comes Psyduck, confused as usual! Psyduck: Psy? Misty: Psyduck! Quick, get back before it’s too late! Brock: If you call back Psyduck, Misty, it counts as one of your two Pokémon. Misty: Fine! Psyduck, um, tail whip! Brock: (throwing his Pokéball) Geodude, go! Geodude: Geo! Brock: Geodude, rock throw! Misty: Psyduck, watch out for the rocks! Geodude throws rocks, one at a time, towards Psyduck. Of course, Psyduck’s too dumb to dodge them, and he’s hit by one after another. Misty: Psyduck’s headache seems to be getting worse... Brock: Gotta switch before Psyduck gets a chance to attack... Misty: Psyduck, disable attack! Brock: Geodude, tackle Psyduck, but avoid his head! Geodude flies over and rams straight into Psyduck, sending both Pokémon to the ground. Psyduck, who takes the full brunt of the collision, gets angry as his eyes begin to glow blue. Misty: (excited) All right! Psyduck, use your confusion attack! Psyduck: Psy-yi-yi-duck! Psyduck’s confusion attack overwhelms Geodude, and he faints. Brock: No! Geodude, return! Misty: What’s wrong, Brock? Scared of being beat by a girl? Brock: Scared? I’ll show you who’s scared! Onix, go! Brock throws out the Pokéball, and Onix materializes. Both Misty and Psyduck cower in fear. The glow in Psyduck’s eyes disappears, and he begins to run around as if he used the confusion attack on himself. Misty: Psyduck, don’t be frightened! Just use your confusion attack on Onix! Psyduck: Psy? Misty: (facefaults) Don’t tell me your headache’s gone already! Brock: Onix, bind it! Onix: Grrrooooaaaaarrrrr! Onix succeeds in binding Psyduck. Psyduck’s as confused as ever! Brock begins to cheer, and Misty pulls out a Pokéball to call Psyduck back. Misty: Psyduck, return! Psyduck is unable to return, as the Pokéball’s rays are being blocked by Onix. Misty: Hey! No fair! Brock: Onix is allowed to block a return command aimed to his opponent. It’s how Ash lost to me once and almost lost that way again in the rematch! Misty: Well, if you hadn’t noticed, I’m not Ash! Psyduck, return! Onix continues to put the squeeze on Psyduck. Misty: Oh no! Psyduck’s getting weak! Brock: So, Misty, thinking of giving up yet? Misty: Never! I’m not a quitter like Ash! Psyduck, return! Once again, Onix blocks the Pokéball’s rays. Misty: Well, if Onix won’t let go of Psyduck, I’ll make him let go! She picks up a rock, and prepares to throw it. Brock: No, Misty! Throwing objects at a Pokémon during a match is illegal, especially a gym battle! You should know better. Misty: But Onix won’t let go of Psyduck! Suddenly, Psyduck’s eyes begin to glow. Without a command from Misty, Psyduck uses confusion on Onix, and escapes. After landing on the ground, though, Psyduck faints. Onix tries to shake off the attack. Misty: Psyduck, return! (fingering another Pokéball) Well, at least this time, the right Pokémon will come out. Staryu, go! Staryu: Hi-ya! Brock: Onix, tackle that Staryu! Onix: Rrrrrrrroooooooooooaaaarrrrrr! Misty: Staryu, watch out! Staryu barely avoids Onix’s attack. Misty: Staryu, water gun! Staryu: Yu! Staryu’s water gun hits Onix directly, weakening him, but he’s not out of the battle yet. Brock: Onix, shake it off! Without water, that Staryu can’t last for long here! Just avoid its attacks until it runs out of water! Misty: Okay, Staryu, keep squirting Onix! Staryu shoots its water gun, but Onix continues to dodge the attacks. And just as Brock said, Staryu finally runs out of water. Misty: Oh no! Staryu’s out of water! Brock: Ha ha! Now’s my chance to finish her Pokémon off! Onix, bind it! Misty: Not again! Staryu, tackle attack! The two Pokémon charge to each other, and another dust cloud forms. Only when the smoke clears this time, both Pokémon are struggling to stay alive. Misty: Staryu! Brock: Onix! Misty: If there was only some water around, Staryu would be able to recover. Brock: Come on, Onix, hang on! I’ve just gotta beat Misty to show that I can be a good trainer and breeder. Misty: What am I going to do? Brock: Yes! Onix, you’re back! Onix: Rrrooaarr! Brock: Time to finish this! Onix, rock throw! Onix begins to throw rocks at Staryu. Brock then notices someone else in the line of fire. Brock: Misty, look out! Misty looks up and screams as she sees the rocks hurtling towards her. ************************************************************************ As the rocks draw ever closer to Misty, she’s frozen stiff! There’s no time to move out of the way! Brock: Misty! Just as the rocks are about to hit Misty, they explode into a million pebbles, none of them hard enough to injure her. She looks at the rubble around her, and sees a red rose sticking out of the ground, at a 45 degree angle towards her. Brock: Who did that? Misty: Yeah! Who’s the dreamy hunk who saved me? James: Right here! Misty: James?! Brock: What are you doing here? Jessie: (jumping down from the rafters with a parachute) To protect the world from devastation! James: To unite all peoples within our nation! Jessie: (landing on the ground between Misty and Brock) To denounce the evils of truth and love! James: (walking past Misty and towards Jessie) To extend our reach to the stars above! Jessie: Jessie! James: James! Jessie: Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light! James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight! For some strange reason, the room is dead silent. Meowth’s nowhere to be found! Jessie: Meowth? Where are you? James: That’s your cue to get out here! Brock: Team Rocket! You’ve got no right to be here. Misty: Yeah! As you can see, I’m in the process of getting a Boulder Badge! Jessie: A Boulder Badge? You’ve got be kidding me? You... a Pokémon master? Jessie begins to laugh hysterically. Misty begins to get angry again. Brock examines Onix to see if he’s all right. James stands there as if he’s the only one there. Misty: Listen, Jessie, I don’t care if you are part of the “great” Team Rocket! Just let me finish my battle, then you can try to get revenge on me for what I did back at Professor Oak’s place in Pallet. Jessie: Never! We’re going to battle right now! Misty and Jessie begin to stare angrily at each other. Suddenly, James jumps in and breaks them up. James: Um, excuse me, ladies, but aren’t we supposed to be battling? Misty and Jessie: (simultaneously) Who asked for your opinion?! Jessie: Now that you mention it, I’d like to see the scrawny little girl here try and beat the cross-eyed fool over there! Misty: Scrawny! Why you... Brock: Who’s cross-eyed? Meowth: Meowth! That’s right! James: I didn’t know you were cross-eyed, Meowth. Meowth: Huh? Hey, why aren’t you trying to steal their Pokémon? Jessie: Because I want them to battle each other. And no matter who wins, their Pokémon will be too weak to face ours, lining us up for victory! James: I’m so smart! I’m glad I thought of this plan! Jessie: What do you mean YOU thought of it? James: That’s because I’m the smartest one here! Misty has gone back over to Staryu. Misty: Staryu, are you okay? The jewel in Staryu’s center is flashing slowly, which shows that it’s energy is low. Brock: Onix, take care of Team Rocket! Onix: Ggggggrrrrroooaaarrrr! Meowth: I don’t think so! He throws four square machines, one at Misty, one at Brock, one at Onix, and one at Staryu. Once on, they begin to shock their wearers, who scream in pain. Misty: Aaaaaaaahhhhhh! Brock: Ooooooooowwwwwww! Onix: Gggggrrooarrr! Staryu: Yuuuuu! Meowth: All right, kiddies, say hello to my first invention, the Electro-buzz! It’s guaranteed to shock you every time you say something smart at us. Jessie: We’ve finally reached the big top! James: Team Rocket is blasting off again... but this time, to the top of the leader board! Meowth: Now let’s watch them beat the stuffing out of each other. Then we’ll pick up the pieces...and the Pokémon. Misty: What makes you think we’ll fight for you, Team Rocket? Meowth pulls a remote control from his back, pushes a button, and Misty is shocked again. Misty: (screams) Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! Meowth: That’ll teach you not to mess with Champion Team Rocket! James: We’re the best of the rest! Jessie: Now begin the match, and may the best loser win! Misty: If we have to... (to Staryu) Ready to rock and roll, Staryu? Staryu: Yu! Brock: Time to defend Pewter’s honor! Onix, tackle attack! Onix: Gggggrrrroooaaaarrrr! Misty: Staryu, give it your own tackle attack! Staryu: Yu! Onix proves to be the strongest, and Staryu is not only knocked against the wall, but is shocked in the process! In addition, Misty feels her Pokémon’s pain. Misty: Staryu’s too weak to battle any longer, and I can’t use recover without a water source! What do I do? Jessie: Come on, Misty! I thought you were supposed to be the almighty trainer. James: Looks like the twerp can’t handle the pressure. Meowth: Shut up and get ready, ‘cause this one’s almost over. Brock: I hate to do this, but this a Pokémon League Badge Match. (to Onix) Onix, bind it now! Suddenly, a weird flash of light blinds everyone! When it disappears, the four Electro-buzz devices are now on Team Rocket (two on Meowth). A strange figure holds the control. She pushes a button, and the dastardly trio is shocked. Mysterious Girl: Stand back, Misty and Brock! She then presses another button, which causes the devices to explode! The trio is sent flying through the roof and flying to who knows where. Jessie, James, and Meowth: Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again! The remains of the hole in the roof fall to the ground. One is large enough to make a hole in the floor. Out from it comes a small puddle of water. Misty: Water! Perfect! She picks up Staryu and lets it suck up the puddle. Misty: Staryu, recover! Staryu returns to full strength. The mysterious girl continues to wait in the shadows. Brock stands stunned at the hole that’s now present in the roof. Misty: Time to get that Boulder Badge! Staryu, hydro pump! Staryu: Yuuuuu! Brock: What the... Onix is caught off guard by Staryu’s attack, and he faints to the ground. Misty begins to jump in glee, while Brock is surprised at the outcome. Misty: Yes! I got the Boulder Badge! Great job, Staryu! Staryu: Yu! Brock: No fair! You caught me off guard, Misty! Misty: All’s fair in Pokémon battles, Brock. Staryu, return! Staryu returns to the Pokéball. Brock calls back Onix, then fishes through his pocket. He pulls out a Boulder Badge. Brock: Well, I guess this is yours, Misty. Misty: Yeah! Now I can get my Pokémon trainer’s license renewed! Mysterious Girl: And you deserve it. But just one question remains. Misty: And that is? Mysterious Girl: Where’s Ashy-boy? Ditto: Ditto! Brock: You mean... Misty: Is that you, Duplica? Duplica: Ta-da! That’s right! Duplica has matured slightly since the gang last saw her. She still wears her trademark double ponytails in her blue-greenish hair. Ditto stands by her side, her one and only Pokémon. Misty: Duplica? What are you doing here? Duplica: Your sisters sent me to see how you were doing. Misty: My sisters? How long have you known them? Duplica: I just met them last week. I was attending their performance of “The Mermaid Princess.” When I told them that I knew you, they gave me a letter for you to read. They said it was very important. Brock: Oh, hello, Duplica. Brock goes into his “girl-crazy mode.” Duplica just ignores him. Duplica: Here, Misty. Misty: Thanks! She opens the letter, and reads the following: To Misty, We’ve got more bad news. There was a mistake in the computer. You need four badges, not one as we told you in Pallet. They’ve given you two months to get the badges, or they’ll take away your license and your Pokémon. So I guess you’ll be coming here to fight for the Cascade Badge. Hope you’re doing okay, little sis. See you soon, Violet, Lily, and Daisy Misty: I now have to get four badges? Duplica: Dang, that’s harsh! But I’ve seen the official Pokémon League trainers’ rules and regulations booklet, and I’ve never seen that rule. Misty: That is weird! Brock: You don’t suppose that your sisters could be lying. Misty: I know my sisters, and even they wouldn’t go this low to pick on me. Something fishy’s going on, and I’m going to find out what. Duplica: Cool! I’ll join you, Misty! Misty: What? What about the Imite House? Duplica: Don’t worry, business is kind of slow this time of year anyway. Besides, I’m sure Ditto here could use some exercise. We haven’t tried to capture any Pokémon as of late. Right, Ditto? Ditto: Ditto! Duplica: And how about you, Brock? Would you like to come along? Brock: Thanks, but no thanks, Duplica. You’re a nice girl and everything, but I need to stay here. I’m trying to continue my studies as a Pokémon breeder. Misty: Oh, well, your loss. Narrator: And so a newfound trio, Misty, with one badge in her possession, and Duplica and Ditto, the imitating pair, continue on, up Routes 3 and 4 and past Mt. Moon. Pictures of the trio are seen on the screen, which include an attempt by Duplica to capture a Beedrill, and Misty’s reaction to Duplica’s preference for Pokémon. Narrator: There, they find a few Clefairy, but they leave them alone in peace. More scenes are shown, including an extraordinary picnic with the Clefairy by the river. Narrator: Two weeks later, they arrive in Cerulean City, Misty’s hometown, but without any new Pokémon. Misty: Here we are, in my hometown of Cerulean City! Duplica: Say, where’s the Pokémart here? I’d like to buy a few Pokéballs to capture some new Pokémon after you face off with your sisters. Misty: It’s on Fourth Street, not too far from here. You can’t miss it! Duplica: Thanks, Misty! (to Ditto) Let’s go, Ditto! Ditto: Ditto! Duplica: Have fun at the gym, Misty! Duplica picks up Ditto and runs to the Pokémart. In the meantime, Misty heads for the Pokémon Center to have her Pokémon healed. Nurse Joy: Don’t worry, it won’t take long. Your Pokémon will be back to normal in just a few minutes. Misty: Thanks, Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy walks back to the Pokémon recharger. Misty sits down and begins to ponder in thought. Misty: Hmmmmmm. I wonder if Duplica managed to find the Pokémart? At the Pokémart, Duplica’s welcomed by a guy at the check-out station. He watches in awe as she enters with Ditto. Biff: Hi, my name’s Biff, and welcome to the Pokémart! Can I help you, my lovely lady? Duplica: Oh, trying to be a romancer, are you? Biff: Why don’t you and me go out, say tomorrow night. I know this great place where we can stare at the moon all night. Duplica: (getting serious) Look, all I want are some Pokéballs! Biff: And I think you’re looking for something more than that, my dear. Duplica: Don’t you come near me! Ditto: (angry) Ditto! Biff: (trying to grab her) Why don’t I take you to my fantasy world? Duplica: I don’t think so, buster! Ditto, transform into a Bulbasaur! Ditto: Ditto! Duplica: Ditto, vine whip! Hold this guy down! Ditto: Ditto! Ditto succeeds in tying Biff up. Suddenly, the store manager, an old man named Mr. Whitley, comes up from the back. Mr. Whitley: What’s going on here? Duplica: Your employee tried to sexually harass me! Biff: Not true, boss. She tried to steal some Pokéballs, and I was trying to stop her when this Ditto tied me up. Mr. Whitley: So, a thief, huh? Duplica: What? I’m not a thief! Mr. Whitley: Just look at that smile! Definitely a thief! He reaches for the videophone, and dials Officer Jenny. Mr. Whitley: Officer Jenny, this is the Pokémart! I’d like to report a thief in my store! Duplica: No! (to Ditto) Ditto, let’s go! Duplica picks up Ditto, who changes back to his original form. The two take off sprinting towards the Cerulean City gym, where Misty, her Pokémon already fully recharged, is already confronting her three sisters. Violet: Well, are you ready, Misty? Misty: I sure am. Let’s get this started. Lily and Daisy watch from the sidelines. Daisy: I wonder who will win? Lily: I think it’s anyone’s game. Violet obviously has trained her Pokémon well. Then again, Misty’s has field experience. Who knows what will happen. Misty: (doing her standard pose) Starmie, I choose you! Narrator: Does Misty have what it takes to beat Violet and win a Cascade Badge? Will Duplica manage to get away before Officer Jenny catches her? What other surprises lie along the road to the Pokémon League? Who knows? Certainly Team Rocket doesn’t... Jessie, James, and Meowth are just arriving in Cerulean City. Tired and dejected, they try to find a place to rest. Jessie: I can’t believe we were defeated by that lousy Ditto trainer! James: Don’t worry, the next time we meet, she won’t be so lucky! Meowth: Meowth! Watch out, because Team Rocket’s back in town! To be continued... Feedback would be appreciated! Send it to jgg121@yahoo.com. Copyright Date: 11/2/99, Revised: 5/15/00, courtesy of Gloomboy Revisions from the Original Release Include: - In the scene where Brock is trying to decide which Pokémon to use first, he originally was against Vulpix entering the battle for the same reasons stated for Zubat in this version. Of course, Vulpix (a fire type) is weak against water types, while Zubat doesn’t suffer a type disadvantage. - Misty’s first command was for Psyduck to do a tail whip. In the original, it stated that she commanded herself to do a tail whip. - A slightly better description of Misty and Duplica’s trip from Pewter to Cerulean was added for this version. - In the original, Violet stated that they were already preparing for Misty’s arrival when she contacted her from Pewter. To make more sense of the scene, I added a part where Misty becomes slightly suspicious of why her sisters would be getting ready for her. In the next episode... Misty may have two gym badges practically under her belt, but there’s another order of business to take care of. She’s going to have to prove Duplica’s innocence before Officer Jenny gets to her. But things get worse outside the city, where a nasty surprise awaits her. Don’t miss Episode 3, “Stop Over in Vermillion.”
