Misty: Welcome to Watermelon Town. Watermelon Town? What kind of a name is that? A boy of about eight comes up, with a Pokéball in hand. Boy: Welcome! Misty: Excuse me, but what kind of name is Watermelon Town? Boy: It's called that because all of the Pokémon here are very rotund. (looking at Togepi) Wow, what kind of Pokémon is that? Misty: It's a Togepi. Boy: Never heard of that one. Say, you must be a Pokémon trainer. How about a match? Misty: Sure! Some of the trainers that I met on the way here weren't much of a challenge. Boy: (begins to sweat) Um, yeah, don't worry about it. A minute later, Misty and the young boy stood facing each other on an empty grass field. Her bike was tied to a nearby tree. Togepi was sitting right next to it, eating a piece of food that Misty had given her before the match. Boy: One on one, okay? Misty: Only one on one? You mean you only have one Pokémon? Boy: Yes. Misty: All right, let's get this over with then. Boy: (grabs his Pokéball) Golem, go! (throws it, and Golem appears) Misty: (yawns) Another easy battle. (grabs one of her Pokéballs) Misty calls Poliwrath! Poliwrath appears in front of her. Boy: Golem, tackle! Misty: Poliwrath, body slam! Golem forms into a rock solid ball and rolls towards Poliwrath. Poliwrath puts her hands up and stops the ball, then jumps in the air, Golem in hand, and slams him down hard on the ground. Golem comes out of his shape, unconscious. Misty: Nice job, Poliwrath, as usual. Boy: I can't believe I lost again! The boy recalls Golem, before running off in tears. Misty: (somewhat depressed, but also disappointed) I didn't mean to make him cry. But ever since the troubles with Arius's brother in Saffron City and my battle with Erika in Celadon, there just haven't been any good trainers around. I want a real challenge. Suddenly, she spots a small crowd gathered at the town Poké-Mart. She places Togepi in her satchel, then gets on her bike and rides to the scene. She gets there, hops off, and walks her bike over to see what's going on. She spots an Officer Jenny, so she walks over to her. Jenny: (walking out of the store and over a piece of broken glass) All right, everyone, stay back! With all the glass around, this place is a safety hazard! Please stay behind the yellow tape, thank you! Misty: Officer Jenny! Jenny: Have we met? Misty: Yes, I've met some of your relatives. Jenny: Oh, are you the redheaded girl from Cerulean City that I've heard so much about? Misty: Unless one of my sisters had their hair dyed recently, then I guess that's me. Jenny: Great! (pulls a piece of paper out of her blouse pocket) This is for you. Misty: (opens the letter and reads it) It's from my sisters. They want me to call them. Jenny: The Pokémon Center is just around the corner. I'm sure Nurse Joy will let you use her phone. Now, if you'll excuse me, there's more to investigate here. Misty: By the way, what did happen? Jenny: Two of the Rockets that were arrested in the Pokémon League threats two months at the Indigo Plateau had escaped and were attempting to steal some supplies. Misty: You mean the ones at the Pokémon League Novice Tournament? Jenny: The very same. Misty: Well, to my knowledge, three of them were rookies, so it must have been the other two. Cassidy and Butch! Jenny: Do you know them? Misty: Trust me, Officer Jenny, I wish I didn't, and they wish that they hadn't met me. Jenny gives a perplexing look, but Misty had already reached her bike and was heading for the Pokémon Center. Once inside, she handed her Pokémon, minus Togepi of course, to Nurse Joy, then went to the videophone. She quickly dialed up the number to the Cerulean City Pokémon gym. Daisy's face appeared on the screen. Daisy: Hello! Cerulean City Pokémon gym and home to the three Sensational Sisters! Misty: Excuse me, don't you mean four! Daisy: (realizing Misty is on the line) Oh, hi, Misty. Misty: Trying to achieve fame without me, again? Daisy: No, just preparing our next act. We're working a new water ballet. Misty: It doesn't involve me again, does it? Daisy: No, that's not why we wanted you to call. Misty: Then why? Daisy: (bends down, off the screen, then comes back with Horsea in hand) Remember Horsea? Misty: Horsea! It's been so long! Horsea: Horsea horsea! Daisy: Horsea misses you. I think she wants to travel with you again. Misty: Well, why not. The question is, which Pokémon should I put back. Daisy: How about that cute one in your arms, Misty? Misty: (looking at Togepi) No way! Togepi is one of a kind, and I'm raising her myself! Togepi: Togepi! Daisy: What is it, anyway? Misty: It's a Togepi. Some sort of shell Pokémon. It was recently discovered on the island resort of Porta Vista, and I was lucky enough to get one of the rare eggs. Daisy: Porta Vista. At least there the boys are pretty... Misty: Daisy, are you listening to me! Daisy: Of course, lil' sis! Misty: How about Staryu? I know it hasn't been in water in a long time, and it's getting kind of tired earlier in battles than usual. Daisy: Oh, okay, but I still say I want that little cutie in your arms, Misty. Togepi: (excited) Toge toge-priiiii! Misty: Okay, I'll transport Staryu in a minute, as soon as Nurse Joy returns with my Pokémon. Daisy: And I'll get Horsea's Pokéball. Misty: Daisy? Daisy: What's wrong, Misty? Misty: Where are Lily and Violet? Daisy: Um, shopping for, like, props. Misty: And why didn't you go with them? Daisy: Hey, after you, your friend Duplica, and Officer Jenny burst into our gym a couple of months ago, we've learned to be more on our guard. You never know if a thief will try to steal the Pokémon here. Joy: Misty, your Pokémon are now fully recovered! Misty walks over and grabs Staryu's Pokéball, then places the rest of them in her satchel. Togepi tries to play with Staryu's Pokéball, but Misty pulls it away before the egg can do any damage. Misty walks over to the Pokéball transporter and places Staryu's Pokéball in it. Misty: Okay, Daisy, Staryu's ready. Daisy: And I've just got Horsea's Pokéball in the transporter. Performing the Pokéball switch now. In a matter of moments, Staryu's Pokéball disappeared and was replaced by Horsea's in less than an instant. Daisy: Okay, Misty, I've got Staryu. (hears a door open) Looks like Lily and Violet are back. Oh, wait, Misty! Misty: (picking up Horsea's Pokéball and preparing to leave) What? Daisy: (points at something off-screen) Can you please take this thing too! The screen moves, and Misty sees Jigglypuff preparing to sing. Misty: Sorry, Daisy, but I don't have any need for Jigglypuff right now. Guess that you'll have to handle this one by yourself. Misty turns off the phone as Daisy begins to feel the full force of Jigglypuff's song. Misty heads back outside and pedals out of town before remembering why she was in town in the first place. Misty: Oops. I just remembered why I wanted to stop here. She heads back, and goes to the grocery store to buy some food, then to the Poké-Mart, which was in business outside despite the destruction of the shop earlier. There, she bought a few potions, Pokémon food, and a few extra Pokéballs. She then begins to bike out of the town, and on her way towards Fuchsia City. Misty: (biking and holding a map at the same time) Well, Togepi, if my calculations are correct, it should only take about eleven days to get to Fuchsia City. Togepi: Toge, togepriiii! She then begins to hear a noise nearby in the bushes. She pulls off the side of the road, places her bike against a tree, and then quietly sneaks over to see who's there. Misty: (ducking behind the bushes, and spotting someone) Looks like a member of Team Rocket. Sure enough, a member of Team Rocket was busy preparing a fire. Misty then noticed a pile of Pokémon supplies near him. Misty: Those look like the stolen goods from the Poké-Mart! That means that... Togepi: (begins to cry) Togeeeeeeeee! Misty turns around, and finds Cassidy and Raticate behind her. Misty and Cassidy: (simultaneously) You! Misty: Cassidy! That know-it-all from the breeding center! Cassidy: Misty! The little brat that exposed our operation! Raticate: Cate! Togepi: Pi? Togeprrrii? Butch: (coming from behind the bushes) Cassidy, what's going... it's her! Cassidy: You're going to get it now, kid! Prepare for trouble! Butch: And make it double! Cassidy: To infect the world with devastation! Butch: To blight all people in every nation! Cassidy: To denounce the goodness of truth and love! Butch: To extend our wrath to the stars above! Cassidy: Cassidy! Butch: Butch! Cassidy: We're Team Rocket circling Earth all day and night! Butch: Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight! Cassidy: That's right! Raticate: Cate! Cassidy: Quick, grab her before she gets the cops like she did last time! Butch: You're not going to pin the rap on us this time! Cassidy and Butch dive for Misty, who jumps out of the way. The two Rockets' heads collide, as Misty runs to her bike and pedals down the road. Cassidy: Quick, Butch, get those bikes we stole, I mean borrowed, so we can chase her! Butch: Right! Cassidy: And Raticate is riding on your bike! Butch: Okay, yeesh! How was I supposed to know that you're allergic to Raticate? Soon, Cassidy, Butch, and Raticate are giving chase. Misty, with Togepi still in her lap, pedals to try and get away. Suddenly, she rides over a land mine. Misty, Togepi, her satchel, and her bike are sent flying in four different directions. The bike lands, still intact, but destroyed beyond repair. The satchel empties out all over the road. Togepi lands in a bird's nest in a nearby tree. As for Misty, she lands on her back, and begins to black out as she hears the Rockets' bikes draw ever closer. ************************************************************************ Two of Misty's Pokéballs have opened upon contact with the ground, and out comes Vaporeon and Scyther. They both then spot Misty's unconscious body. They run over to try and revive her. Vaporeon: Por? Scyther: Scyther! Vaporeon uses its water gun to awaken a startled... and wet Misty. Misty: (waking up) Hey! What's going on, and why am I all wet? She then turns to Cassidy, Butch, and Raticate, who have just arrived on the scene. Butch: (getting off his bike) Look, some of her Pokéballs are on the ground! Cassidy: (getting off her bike) Let's give them a nice home. Raticate: Cate! Misty: Oh no you don't, Team Rocket! Vaporeon, Scyther, stop them! Cassidy: (throwing a Pokéball) Arcanine, go and get Vaporeon! Butch: (throws one as well) Machamp, stop that Scyther! Misty: Vaporeon, water gun! Scyther, use your double team attack! Cassidy: Arcanine, ember! Butch: Machamp, karate chop! Raticate: (running for the Pokéballs) Cate cate raticate! Togepi suddenly falls from the tree, and lands on Raticate's head, knocking it out. Togepi: (cheering happily) Togepi! Both Arcanine and Vaporeon's attacks miss their intended targets. Meanwhile, Scyther outwits Machamp at every turn. Misty: Vaporeon, aurora beam! Scyther, swords dance! Cassidy: Arcanine, take down! Butch: Machamp, seismic toss! The aurora beam attack freezes Arcanine in place temporarily, while Scyther avoids Machamp's seismic toss and takes the fighting Pokémon down for the count. Suddenly, a smoke bomb is thrown into the fray and smoke blinds everyone. Misty: (coughing) Hey, who threw the smoke bomb? Jane: We're back! Calamity: And this time, we're not leaving without you! The two Rockets, in their orange uniforms, stand ready to attack. Misty: It can't be! Jane: Prepare for trouble! Calamity: And make it double! Jane: To introduce the world to devastation! Calamity: To love our team and unite our nation! Jane: To denounce the values known as truth and love! Calamity: To extend our knowledge to the stars above! Jane: Jane! Calamity: Calamity! Jane: Team Rocket, the best when stealing Pokémon is right! Calamity: Surrender now, or prepare for a fight! Pidgeo: Pidgeo! This time, it's personal! The smoke clears, and the threesome stand there ready as ever. Cassidy: Get out of here, you three! We can handle this! Butch: We've dealt with her before. Jane: Yeah, and lost! Calamity: We'll show you who's the best. Jane: (kisses her Pokéball, then throws it) Pinsir, go! Calamity: (rolls his Pokéball on the ground until it hits a rock and opens) Kabuto, go! Pinsir and Kabuto materialize alongside Arcanine and Machamp. Misty: Four on two, that's an unfair advantage! Calamity: Correct, and Team Rocket takes advantage of unfair advantages. Jane: Now, Miss Waterflower, surrender to us now, because you know you can't beat all four of us at once. Misty: Never! Vaporeon, tackle! Scyther, agility! Cassidy: Arcanine, tackle! Butch: Machamp, low kick! Jane: Pinsir, vice grip! Calamity: Kabuto, slash! Vaporeon and Scyther didn't stand a chance, and were easily blown away by the combined strength of the four Pokémon. Misty: Vaporeon! Scyther! Cassidy: Wow, we actually did it! Misty: Vaporeon, Scyther, return! The two Pokémon return to their Pokéballs. Misty: (in thought) There's no way I can take them on by myself, not without my other Pokémon. Jane: Oh, Miss Waterflower, I suppose that this little thing over here is yours... Jane is pointing to Misty's unusable bicycle. Misty: My bike! Calamity: Oops, looks like our land mine trap worked too well. Jane and Calamity begin to laugh at Misty, which gets her angry. Misty: (angry) That bike was from my best friend! How could you go and destroy it? Pidgeo: Pidgeo! Easy. Just to use as a distraction for this! Pidgeo pulls out a small carrying case that has Togepi and Misty's three other Pokéballs in it. Misty gasps as she glances over and sees that Togepi is in tears. Misty: Give those back! Jane: Nope, these are ours unless you agree to come with us to see our boss! Calamity: And you don't have any other choice. Misty: Never! I'll never surrender to Team Rocket! Pidgeo: Pidgeo! Then your Pokémon are as good as ours! Jane takes out a silver ball and throws it on the ground, producing another smoke screen and allowing her team to get away. Misty: I've got to go after them! Cassidy: Oh no you don't! Butch: Get her, Arcanine and Machamp! Misty tries to run away, but is cut off by the two Pokémon. Butch throws a third Pokéball into battle. Butch: Electabuzz, go! The three Pokémon surround Misty, all charging up to attack. Cassidy: I'd like to see you get out of this one. Butch: Yeah! We're miles away from Officer Jenny! There's no way you can get any help now! Cassidy: Arcanine, Machamp, Electabuzz, get rid of her! Suddenly, a stretchy pink Pokémon passes by and blinds the battle scene. After a few seconds, it leaves, and the three Pokémon are seen tangling with each other, but Misty is nowhere to be found. Misty has taken the opportunity to quickly grab her things and put them back in her satchel, and then takes off, leaving her destroyed bike behind. Cassidy: Where did she go? Butch: (catching a glimpse of Misty running down a nearby hill) There she is! Let's get her! Butch picks up Raticate before following Cassidy and the three Pokémon down the hill after Misty. A little farther up the road, Jane, Calamity, and Pidgeo are planting a giant field of land mines. Jane: If that little brat is following us... Calamity: ...then these land mines should take care of her once and for all! Pidgeo: Will you two hurry up! I can already here voices from the next hill over! Misty reaches the top of the hill above them and sees them plant the last mine. Misty: Hey, you creeps! Come back here with Togepi and the rest of my Pokémon! Calamity: (starting to run) In your dreams! Jane: You'll never catch us! Pidgeo picks up the carrying case, but it's too heavy, as the bird drops the case on the ground, causing one of the Pokéballs to open. Out of it comes Golduck. Golduck: Gol? Calamity: It's a Golduck! Jane: Quick, grab it before it gets away! Pidgeo: My pleasure! Misty: (looking down the hill and seeing Golduck) Golduck! Run! Cassidy: (from the other side of the hill) Hurry! Butch: She can't be that far ahead! Misty ducks into a nearby bush. Down below, Golduck heads towards the field of land mines. Calamity, Jane, and Pidgeo give chase. Calamity: Hey, come back here you stupid duck! Jane: Wait a minute, guys! The trio stops dead in tracks just as Golduck enters the minefield. Pidgeo: What's up? Jane: That Pokémon isn't worth it. Besides, he'll probably kill itself by activating one of those land mines. Sure enough, Golduck was setting off every land mine he passed, but he also avoided every blast. The smoke being left set up a giant cloud of smoke over the mine field, just as Cassidy, Butch, Arcanine, Machamp, and Electabuzz reach the top of the hill overlooking it. Cassidy: She thinks she's so clever to place a smoke screen down at the bottom of the hill, where we'd be least expected to look. Butch: But we're not the dummies she takes us to be. Let's get her! The five of them run into the smoke screen and straight into the minefield. Just seconds later, a giant explosion can be heard. Misty, Calamity, and Jane look skyward as the fivesome are sent flying back towards Watermelon Town. Cassidy and Butch: (simultaneously) Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again! Back in Watermelon Town, Officer Jenny walks out of the Pokémon Center after a lunch break with Nurse Joy. Jenny: Now, to track down those crooks. Jenny suddenly lifts her head skyward, as she hears the screams of two humans and three Pokémon falling towards her. Cassidy and Butch: (simultaneously) Look out below! Jenny dives out of the way just in time, as the group goes crashing through the Pokémon Center doors and comes to a stop at Nurse Joy's feet. Joy: (ticked off, places her hands on her hips) Can't you use the door? Jenny: (running in) I'll take care of them, Nurse Joy. She pulls out two pairs of handcuffs and places them on Cassidy and Butch's wrists, then takes the four Pokéballs in their possession and recalls Raticate, Arcanine, Machamp, and Electabuzz. Jenny: You're under arrest, Team Rocket! And this time, I'm going to personally make sure you don't escape. Back on the route, the remaining mines have detonated as a result of the explosion, and Golduck comes out, unscathed, running up to Misty. Misty: (hugs Golduck) Oh, Golduck, I'm so glad you're okay! Golduck: Golduck? Misty: Now, down to business! Jane: That Golduck is still alive? Calamity: It should've been killed in the explosion! Pidgeo: That's no ordinary Golduck! Misty: Ha! You two aren't the only ones with an extraordinary Pokémon! Jane: Okay then, back to action! Pinsir, vice grip! Calamity: Kabuto, scratch attack! Misty: Golduck, disable! Golduck uses its psychic powers to render Pinsir and Kabuto's attacks useless. Calamity: Oh no! Jane: Quick, where are the three Pokéballs that the boss gave us? Pidgeo: And while you guys are digging them out, I'll take care of that dumb duck. Pidgeo begins to make a super speed dive at Golduck. Misty: Golduck, fury swipes! The fury swipes attack catches the bird in mid-air, and knocks him back towards the Rockets. Jane finds the three Pokéballs and hands one to each of her teammates. She throws hers in her regular style, Calamity does the same, and Pidgeo just throws it as regular. The three Pokémon materialize, and they are a Charizard, a Venusaur, and a Blastoise. Misty: (sarcastically) Oh great! A Charizard, a Venusaur, and a Blastoise! Jane: You're outnumbered, Miss Waterflower! Calamity: Just come with us and save all the trouble of injuring your Pokémon. Misty: (perking up) Wait a minute! I've got it! She reaches into her satchel and pulls out Vaporeon and Scyther's Pokéballs. Misty: (throwing the Pokéballs) Misty calls Vaporeon and Scyther! Pidgeo: What makes you think you can win with those two losers? Misty: Like this! She reaches into her satchel again and this time pulls out two Revives. Misty: Now I'm glad that I did go back and go to the Poké-Mart. (to the two Pokémon) Here you go, guys. Misty gives Vaporeon and Scyther a Revive each, and they begin to glow brightly red. After a few seconds, the glow disappears and the two Pokémon are as strong as ever. Misty: Okay, now it's a fair fight! Jane: A fight is never fair with Team Rocket around! Charizard, flame thrower! Calamity: We'll win, whether it's three on one or three on three! Venusaur, razor leaf! Pidgeo: We're the cream of the crop! We always win! Blastoise, water gun! Misty's three Pokémon dive out of the way just in time. Team Rocket gives looks of astonishment, because they can't believe that they missed. Misty: Ready guys? Golduck, Vaporeon, and Scyther nod in agreement. Misty: All right! Vaporeon, use your water gun attack on Charizard! Scyther, slash that Venusaur! Golduck, confusion attack on Blastoise! Vaporeon's water gun attack cancels out Charizard's flame thrower attack, and Scyther's slash is neutralized by Venusaur's razor leaf. Golduck manages to confuse Blastoise in time so that he sends his water gun attack towards Charizard and Venusaur. Misty: Vaporeon, hydro pump! Jane: Charizard, fire spin! Charizard, unfortunately, had been weakened dramatically by Blastoise's misfire, and Vaporeon took advantage of that fact. Charizard fainted shortly after receiving the hydro pump. Jane: Charizard! This can't be happening! Misty: Good work, Vaporeon! Golduck and Scyther, switch partners! Calamity and Pidgeo: (simultaneously) What! Misty: Okay, Golduck, use confusion again, this time on Venusaur! Calamity: Not this time! Venusaur, charge up for the solar beam! Venusaur: Venusaur! Venusaur begins to charge up, while Golduck tries to initiate the confusion attack on it. Soon enough, Venusaur is ready to fire. Misty: Golduck, hurry up, Venusaur's about to fire! Calamity: It's too late! Venusaur, solar beam! Venusaur fires the solar beam. He begins to head towards Golduck, but then at the last moment, the duck redirects the beam towards Blastoise. The water turtle is stunned by the blast, and is teetering on one foot, about to fall. Pidgeo: Blastoise! (to Calamity) What do you thinking you're doing, you idiot? Calamity: Me? That Golduck is to blame! He redirected Venusaur's solar beam! Misty: Your turn, Scyther! Another slash attack! The slash attack puts Blastoise out of the match. Pidgeo: Blastoise can't be out! I put good money on this match! Jane: When did you find the time to place a bet? Misty: Okay, two down, one to go! Calamity: Venusaur won't be as easy to put out of the match! Misty: Golduck and Vaporeon, double team hydro pump on Team Rocket! The two water Pokémon fire and totally soak Venusaur, Jane, Calamity, and Pidgeo. The carrying case holding Togepi and Misty's two other Pokéballs breaks open. Misty: Scyther, agility! Scyther quickly lunges at Venusaur, catching off guard, and in the confusion, Togepi grabs one of the Pokéballs and throws it on the ground. Out comes Poliwrath. Misty: Poliwrath, bring Togepi and my other Pokéball over here! Pidgeo: Oh no you don't, Poliwrath! Poliwrath fires a water gun to temporarily blind the Pidgeotto, as she picks up Togepi and Misty's other Pokéball and runs back to her trainer. Misty: Nice work, Poliwrath! (picks up Togepi) Are you okay, Togepi? Togepi: (cheers) Toge, toge-prrrrriiiii! Misty places Togepi back in her satchel, then takes her last Pokéball from Poliwrath and opens it. Misty: Misty calls Horsea! Horsea: Horsea! Misty: Wow, you look a little different then last time. I wonder what my Pokédex has to say. She pulls out her blue Pokédex and aims it at Horsea, and gets this response: Pokédex: This Horsea has been exposed to Technical Machine #11, which teaches a Pokémon how to use the bubblebeam attack. This device is only available in Cerulean City, and only works on Pokémon that have water abilities. [1] Misty: Looks like my sisters gave you a little special attention, Horsea! Jane: Calamity, finish off her Pokémon before they get a chance to attack! Calamity: Venusaur, tackle! Misty: Horsea, use bubblebeam to slow it down! Poliwrath, follow it up with your body slam attack! Horsea's bubblebeam succeeds in slowing down Venusaur's attack, giving Poliwrath enough time to warm up and perform her devastating body slam on it. The body slam knocks Venusaur out. Jane: How can one little girl beat all six of our Pokémon? Calamity: This is unbelievable! The great Team Rocket, defeated by the likes of her! Pidgeo: The boss isn't going to like this! Jane: Her Pokémon have definitely gotten stronger since we last met. Misty: You three better think again before trying to take me and my Pokémon on! All six of Misty's Pokémon, Golduck, Vaporeon, Scyther, Poliwrath, Horsea, and even little Togepi, who has jumped onto Misty's right shoulder, stare at Team Rocket with angry looks, knowing that they have the power to beat them. Pidgeo: I think it's time that we left! Calamity: Yeah, with no Pokémon left to battle with, we don't stand much of a chance against them! Jane: This isn't over, Misty Waterflower! Not by a long shot! Jane, Calamity, and Pidgeo: (simultaneously) Team Rocket's blasting off again! This time, Calamity pulls out the silver ball for their escape. And as usual, the smoke comes and goes, with Team Rocket disappearing in the process. Misty's Pokémon begin to celebrate their giant victory. Misty stops them when she notices something over the next hill. Misty: Hey, there's another town! (pulls out her map) That looks like Carnation City. I hope they have a Pokémon Center here. You guys could use some rest. All of Misty's Pokémon agree with her, as they are all tired from battle. Misty: Okay, guys, back in your Pokéballs! Golduck, Vaporeon, Scyther, Poliwrath, and Horsea all return to their Pokéballs. Misty picks up Togepi and puts it back in her satchel. She also puts the map back in her satchel, and then begins to walk towards the city. Misty: (sighs in relief) I wanted a challenge, and I really got one today, Togepi. Togepi: Toge-prrrriii! Misty: Maybe next time I'll be careful what I wish for. Narrator: And so, another day down in Misty's journey, but with her bike destroyed, it'll now take her almost a month before she can challenge another gym leader for a badge! Oh well, enjoy the scenery while you can, Misty, because you never know when Team Rocket will return once again. To be continued... Author's Note: [1] This is based on Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow, not Gold/Silver, just so you know. Copyright Date: 1/18/00, Revised: 12/19/01 Revisions from the Original Release Include: - More grammar revisions, I'm afraid. - The battle scene between Misty and Cassidy and Butch has been revised so that it makes sense. For example, a water attack from a Vaporeon would not cancel out with a fire attack from an Arcanine. Also, haze does not freeze an opponent. See how little I knew about Pokémon attack specifics when I first wrote this? - In the battle involving Misty and the four Rocket members, Arcanine here uses tackle instead of roar, while Pinsir uses vice grip rather than guillotine. - In the battle involving Misty and Team Rocket Orange (Calamity and Jane), Scyther's sword dance attack has been changed to a slash attack. In the next episode... Ash, TJ, and Brock move on to the Miners' Archipelago! There, they meet Peddler Judy, a Poké-Mart knock-off of Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy! But that's not all! TJ falls for a pretty face, while Ash discovers that his first Pokémon League battle is against a Nurse Joy! Don't miss Episode 18, "Playing by the Rules."
